Bundesliga 2020/21 Table Predictions

football forums

Recommended Posts

Slightly difference from our prediction league predictions, but predict the entire table for this upcoming season, the Pokal, and even 2. Bundesliga if you are feeling frisky.

Thread will close at the start of Matchday 1, which is between Bayern Munich and Schalke on Friday, Sept 18.

I'm surprised about how high @nudge and @Rucksackfranzose think Freiburg will do this year. They have lost some major pieces correct?

A proper club, decent squad with a lot of talent and a great head coach. Absolutely trust them to finish mid-table or above. Yes, they lost Schwolow, Koch and Waldschmidt, but Flekken is also a good keeper, their defense is still very strong with good backup, they have already brought in interesting young players for midfield (Til) and attack (Demirovic), and the squad planning is not even finished yet...

They got Guus Til today from Spartak (on loan)!

Might do this - but will wait until the signing and sellings are over before the start of the campaign.  Looks as if some of the already posted predictions are based on heart rather than head.  Werder are looking much stronger than the way they were in February and have no chance of going down if they keep Rashica and gang and with Ibesivic  joining us the same can be said of 04 where the main problem last term was lack of firepower up front and a desire to keep the Austrian in the squad.  Almost certain that Sancho will join Havertz in the PL and if someone comes for Haaland the BVB will suffer.  Manuel could still be in London and Bayern's problem at the back will be hard to solve, although Sule and Leroy seemed to be coming back to full form last night in the farce against Spain (4minutes extra time and Spain score in the 6th minute - how's that fair refereeing?) - more than a week to go and lots could happen! As for the reds in Wurzburg, their performance in the pre season against 04 was good enough not to think of them as relegation candidates from BL2 and Bochum might show us what they can do this week.  For me they could be the sleeping giant in the second tier this time!  The only serious thought at present is that Tommy will be a happy guy by the time the promotion places are determined.

Where does this conviction derive from? Genuine question, as every official statement BVB has released to this issue suggests he will stay there, as Man United failed to pay the asking price til the deadline Dortmund had set.

Good question and requires an answer.  My thoughts are hardly ever convictions - normally based on Spokian logic which sometimes gets me into trouble with students and until it becomes final or impossible to amend the facts, everything is under consideration.  Werner and Havertz ending up together in London would have been cloud cuckoo -land a few months ago but it has happened.  Man U have enough money if they are really serious to sort the Sancho problem - just depends who has the guts to do the job!  Manuel's personal problems are real and at times need almost a new start to resolve - the guy is a super human being as well as the best between the sticks at present, but he - like us all - has a heart and can be driven to the odd strange (in some eyes) decisions so don't take anything for granted.  Will Sead come home before the season starts? How will the Messi saga end? To live long and prosper only needs time to achieve that.  Logic can sometimes throw up the strangest of spurious correlations - like under 12's and old folk like me not suffering from Covid - other members of society at greater risk -why?  Correlation is almost exact when you put the 'at risk' groups alongside the production of testosterone - does Covid like that and Oestrogen? - has that been investigated especially as production of those hormones reduces the level of the immune system? and what's that got to do with the BL - nothing, but the outcome of both questions needs time to consider the options.  I repeat my thoughts on nudge's gang - without Rashica, Eggestein etc  they will struggle - with them they will be safe for another season but there is still time for something to happen before the transfer window closes - I sincerely hope not for her and the green folk's happy 2021 but......

to be continued..........

Flekken is out for some time now, do you still have faith?
