Subscriber RandoEFC+ Posted January 17, 2021 Author Subscriber Share Posted January 17, 2021 Results - Gameweek One Casualties (13) An incredible (in fact it's not incredible, it's pretty predictable now ) opening gameweek of the latest Last Man Standing edition sees a whopping 13 of our 17 participants eliminated at the first hurdle. Marseille were the first, and by far the biggest offenders this weekend as they failed to recover from a two goal deficit at home to Nimes, who find themselves rooted in the Ligue 1 relegation zone even after Saturday's win. Marseille's defeat means elimination for no less than 10 players, including the league's current top two - @Viva la FCB @DeadLinesman @RandoEFC @Tommy @Lucas @Michael @Bluewolf @Dan @Storts and @Stan. With over half of the field eliminated in the second game of the weekend, eyes lit up across the board, none more than 3rd-placed @...Dan, eyeing a run at the top of the table. It wasn't to be though, and another frontrunner fell to the wayside, along with @Rucksackfranzose on Saturday night, as Lyon fell to a 90th minute winning goal at home to Metz. Also eliminated on Sunday was @McAzeem, who backed Saint Etienne to pick up their first win in over a month at Strasbourg, only for the home side to secure a 1-0 victory. Adios, amigos. If form is anything to go by, you'll be hearing from me within a week or two at the beginning of the next round. Survivors (4) With calamity unfolding all around them, a select group progressed to Gameweek Two and have the opportunity to make big gains in the league table with most players posting zero points in this round. Even our survivors this week didn't have an easy ride though. First up was @Pyfish, who backed Monaco to win at Montpellier on Friday night. Pyfish was sitting pretty when Monaco took a three goal advantage into the final half an hour of the game but was made to sweat as Montpellier pegged the score back to 2-3. @Mel81x, joint 4th in the season standings and now the highest placed competitor left in this round, was the next to progress. Surprisingly the only person to use their PSG chip in Gameweek One, the safe bet paid off, but only just, Kurzawa's goal in the final quarter of the game enough to secure the win at Angers. @nudge and @CaaC (John) narrowly prevent this round from turning into a duel quite this early, as Jonathan David's injury-time winner saw Lille complete a 2-1 comeback victory at home to Reims. Congratulations to the four of you. That's one point on the board this round and a great chance to rack up some extra bonus points by finishing in the top three. Please move forward to make your picks for Gameweek Two. Preview - Gameweek Two Below is the current table and the fixture list for Gameweek Two. We're disregarding the midweek game in hand between Marseille and Lens, so Gameweek Two begins on Friday evening with the rest of the games taking place over the course of the weekend. Remember not to pick the same team as you did in Gameweek One.

Subscriber RandoEFC+ Posted January 25, 2021 Author Subscriber Share Posted January 25, 2021 Results - Gameweek Two Casualties (0) For the first time this season, there are 0 casualties as all remaining players made a successful pick this week. Survivors (4) The four players left all successfully made it through to Gameweek Three with one of the most comfortable Last Man Standing weeks of all time. @nudge and @CaaC (John) continued to follow in each other's stride by picking PSG this week, and the French champions provided them with a relaxed weekend after a 4-0 hammering of Montpellier on Friday night. @Mel81x and @Pyfish went one better despite having to wait until Sunday night for their result, Lyon duly delivering them to Gameweek Three by putting five past Saint Etienne in their own back yard. Congratulations folks, that's 2 points each and still room for most of you on the podium. Please progress to Gameweek Three by making your picks below. Preview - Gameweek Three Now I should have done this last week as the rules are that as soon as we're down to less than 5 players, we make tiebreak picks as well just in case nobody manages to pick a match winner. This week I need you to pick a match winner as usual, as well as an anytime goalscorer (this doesn't have to be from the same match as your chosen team) and the time of first goal in the randomly selected game: Lorient vs PSG. The tie breaker only comes into play if all four of you fail to select a match winner. If that happens, it goes down to your goalscorers, if more than one of you picks a correct scorer then it is decided by which player scored earliest (by minute). If none of you select a correct goalscorer or multiple people pick the same winning goalscorer, you will be separated by whoever gets closest to the time of first goal in the Lorient vs PSG game. Good luck!

Subscriber RandoEFC+ Posted February 1, 2021 Author Subscriber Share Posted February 1, 2021 Results - Gameweek Three Casualties (1) Just the one casualty this week and the form book-breaking 2020-21 season continues as its PSG who let down @Pyfish and see him miss out on the podium. A topsy-turvy affair including a pair of Neymar penalties ultimately saw PSG defeated 3-2 away to Lorient. Well done for making it this far, you end this round with 2 points. A real haul as far as this season goes and more than most in this round, but a missed opportunity for @Pyfish to make up some real ground with some bonus points. Survivors (3) Monaco delivered the goods for our final three this week, preventing the requirement for the tie breaker picks to come in to play with a 2-1 win over ten man Nantes. @CaaC (John) deserves particular credit, now bragging a 100% record for the season, with 7 correct picks over 2 rounds after missing the first three contests of the season. He guarantees himself a podium slot this time around alongside @Mel81x and @nudge. Congratulations to our survivors for securing a third point this round with a guarantee of bonus points as well. Preview - Gameweek Four You know the score, and I'll need you to make your tie breaker picks again this week as we're still under five players. Please note that this Gameweek is a full set of fixtures on Wednesday night so don't miss out! Please pick: one Match Winner (that you haven't already picked) one Anytime Goalscorer (that can be from any match) the time of the First Goal in the Strasbourg vs Brest fixture (chosen at random) Table and fixtures are below, please pick ASAP! Good luck!

Subscriber RandoEFC+ Posted February 4, 2021 Author Subscriber Share Posted February 4, 2021 We have a winner! A full set of fixtures in France on Wednesday evening saw the latest round of Last Man Standing come to an end. Lorient spoiled someone's day for the second time in the space of a week as they rallied from behind to take a point from Rennes and deny @nudge a fourth consecutive correct pick. @Mel81x's demise came in similar circumstances, Metz initially taking the lead in their game with Montpellier before being pegged back for a 1-1 draw. @CaaC (John), who diverged from matching nudge's picks at the right moment, saw his pick Lyon hold on to their one goal lead to secure victory at Dijon, and enable him to be crowned the Last Man Standing for the second round in a row! Congratulations! @CaaC (John) takes 7 points from this round for his 4 correct picks and 3 bonus points as the winner. @nudge and @Mel81x take a healthy 5 point haul each for their 3 correct picks and 2 bonus points as joint runners-up. The tie for 2nd means that the single bonus point for 3rd is passed down to @Pyfish, the only other player on the board in this round, added to his two correct picks for a total of 3 points.
