Julen Lopetegui Sacked for Accepting Real Madrid Job Without Informing Spanish FA

Recommended Posts

Mayhem in the Spanish World Cup camp right now since yesterday's shock announcement by Real Madrid that Julen Lopetegui will be taking over the head coach position at the Santiago Bernabéu after the World Cup.

Nobody knows what's going on but there's war right now with even Real Madrid legend Fernando Hierro stating that this has been the most traitorous actions ever held in Spanish football by both Real Madrid and Julen Lopetegui.

Half want Lopetegui out and the other half say it would be self destruction. What's for sure is that nobody is happy and the players are split.

A press conference was announced by Julen Lopetegui for 09:30 bst but has now been put back 1 hour.  Something is brewing!

I don't get why any announcement couldn't be made until after the WC. Sure, it would have still stirred the pot but is this chaos really worth anything when you know that the next appointment has other obligations?

He is getting sacked. Albert Celades will replace.

It was Real Madrid who decided to announce it. Lopetegui didn't even know they were going to do it.  All the same, Lopetegui shouldn't have been negotiating with anyone while on duty for Spain at the World Cup (this without going into the fact he is contracted to someone else, the RFEF in this case).

Did Real Madrid speak to the FA regarding his contract?  thats poaching then a coach if he is under contract?

Ronaldo probably broke the news anyway to fuck off Spain for the Portugal game.

Not a single word to the FA!

This is why everyone has gone against Lopetegui. From one of the most liked characters in Spanish football in the turn of 24 hours to an absolute villain. Real Madrid have a lot to do with this and should be sued because to turn against the Football Federation (RFEF) is paramount to treason in football.

This is mental.

From favourites to possibly win the tournament to possible favourites to be knocked out the groups dare I say?

This will be talked about for years to come. On the levels of the Final in 1998 and that fiasco about whether Ronaldo was injured or not etc.

Spanish Football Federation (SFF) president Luis Rubiales is currently holding a news conference.

He explains that Julen Lopetegui has been sacked and that the SFF only knew he was joining Real Madrid after the World Cup five minutes before it was announced he would join the Champions League winners.

"We have been forced to dispense with the national coach. We wish you the greatest of luck," said Rubiales.

"The negotiation has occurred without any information to the RFEF. Just five minutes before the press release. There's a way to act that needs to be fulfilled."

'We wish you the greatest of luck'.

xD Like fuck does he!

Spain's NT best ever manager. 0 losses in 20 games.

Indeed but he’s acted like a cunt!

In your position if the same thing in the same manner had happened, would you want him as your national team coach?
