Nobody knows what's going on but there's war right now with even Real Madrid legend Fernando Hierro stating that this has been the most traitorous actions ever held in Spanish football by both Real Madrid and Julen Lopetegui. Half want Lopetegui out and the other half say it would be self destruction. What's for sure is that nobody is happy and the players are split. Sure, it would have still stirred the pot but is this chaos really worth anything when you know that the next appointment has other obligations? Lopetegui didn't even know they were going to do it. All the same, Lopetegui shouldn't have been negotiating with anyone while on duty for Spain at the World Cup (this without going into the fact he is contracted to someone else, the RFEF in this case). From one of the most liked characters in Spanish football in the turn of 24 hours to an absolute villain. Real Madrid have a lot to do with this and should be sued because to turn against the Football Federation (RFEF) is paramount to treason in football.
