I think it's a bit of a misunderstanding from those saying it - he's performing on the biggest stage any player can. He's making the step up from an already successful couple of seasons (I don't care for cost of players these days because it's so extortionate) to the national side.

I couldn't be happier for him :D

True.

how good he is especially for someone so young. How about  being the best player in a match that has both Messi and Pogba.

France have now gone 19 games without a loss whenever Griezmann has scored. That man has the golden touch (albeit not having a good game but he scores when required)

There have been quite a few like these.

The one you mentioned.

Portugal never lost when Ronaldo scored twice which almost happend against Spain.

Denmrak never lost when Eriksen scored.

Greatest ever they said  NO ONE in their right mind will ever again put Messi in the same category as the God. Leave that for the fools like Barto!!

Messi's biggest fuck up was rejecting Spain for Argentina....

genuinely shocked and surprised there's no mention of Pogba here xD

Pavard's goal is the best of the WC, so far. Nachoesque, like Kowabunga said, but better because that effect on the ball.....superb.

The score suggests a close game, but it really wasn't. France was always in the front seat, for most of the game.

Underlooked right backs think alike.

That talent wise France is a vastly better team right now, is hardly debatable. But debating the forwards aside from Messi is a moot point: in Argentina everyone but the forwards (and maybe Otamendi, although he is no Ayala), are mediocre players.

Agree. There is an abyss between France and Argentina in terms of individual talent. This is quite sad and it´s a reflection of the poor state of AFA and the work of development of young players. This is not about Messi. Argentinians should take a hard look at the mirror and realize they´ve fallen behind.

For example this was France´s bench today: Mandanda, Aréola, Sidibé, Kimpembe, Rami, Mendy, Tolisso, N´Zonzi, Lemar, Fékir, Thauvin, Dembélé.

How many of those players would walk into Argentina´s starting XI? I count at least 8 players that were in the bench for France today that would start for Argentina. This is quite bad. Argentina is a great football nation, not only because of their history, but also because the culture and passion for football that country has.

Is Lemar a big time prospect? I haven't seen him play.

i can't wholly blame Messi for this loss ---  everyone in the team has failed.      But still, i can't help but to ask myself -- where is the Messi we all see in Barcelona ??.   where is that talk that all the plays START from Messi ???.      oh well, he is still a GOAT, but like i said, but as a player for barcelona .....

I hear that Griezmann kid is pretty good as well. But I´m not totally sure for which team he plays. xD

By the way, what do you think of the rumors that Cholo could take over Argentina and coach Atleti and Argentina at the same time?

I would prefer not to experiment the year the UCL final is being played at the so-called "Wanda".

In any case, Simeone is not going to be at Atlético forever, and at some point, it may be enticed to stay with that kind of strange propositions. It may have a slight chance for it to work with the club having a core of argentinian players, which is not currently the case for Atlético. If he had to share duties, I would prefer Simeone to coach Uruguay, to be fair. xD

Most important about Argentina now, I think Messi  going is probably gone for good from the NT.

i think it would have been rude not to watch it given the sheer audacity for the couple to have a wedding on this day. Ugh.

My cousin actually got married on the day of Peru's debut, and I think her bride was more into the game than actually getting married xD

Agreed to pick my mate up from the airport and of course this has fallen during it. Absolutely seething. It'll be the game of the tournament.

Never, ever under-estimate my power.

Brilliant game. Glad France went through but Umtiti's play acting every game is becoming a bit ridiculous, needs a slap.

I thought Argentina was worse on the play acting, but Umtiti is out against Uruguay

Even when he has the sporadic bad performances, Pogba continues to be the main topic 😎 keep the hate coming chumps

Even when CR7 is done, you do still seem to have the physiological need of a nut to hug.
