Dr. Gonzo Posted September 3, 2018 Posted September 3, 2018 It’s early days, anything can happen. 12 points out of 12 is nothing to scoff at.
Administrator Stan Posted September 4, 2018 Administrator Posted September 4, 2018 Looks like they've already started to 'do a Leicester'...
Lucas Posted September 5, 2018 Posted September 5, 2018 Watford are typically the kind of club that are just as capable of picking up 1 or 2 wins in 10 as they are 3/4 on the bounce, so I think its extremely premature to think they have improved that significantly. They haven't proved anything yet. And the odds on them finishing the season with a new manager are still just as high, let's be honest.
SirBalon Posted September 5, 2018 Posted September 5, 2018 Looks like Watford are searching for the way to extend Javi Gracia's contract.

It would be interesting to get an interview with those that have the responsibility of sacking at Watford... The expectancy is what I'm curious about with that club.

Well we haven't been too into sacking and hiring which may be the route to glory in actual fact... Watch this space with Arsenal because the problem was getting rid of a beloved piece of antique furniture. Now that this has been achieved it should pave the way for us to act like a typical club anywhere. What I do find interesting though is this type of philosophy being implemented at clubs with the stature of Watford or maybe even clubs with bigger resources. What exactly is the expectancy when the slots regarded as being successful are limited and everyone is vying for them with constant changes.

That time must have been about 15 years ago with Wenger was it? Premier League survival is a lot about getting your timing and replacement right. Or should I say Premier League relegation is a lot about getting your timing and/or replacement wrong!

Many times Premier League survival is a prediction made with a modem of precipitation and a lack of patience. I totally appreciate that the potential losses compared to risk levels take those with the responsibility to make decisions to act accordingly. Players need stability but obviously the expectancy in conjunction with what's on offer at the club has to be taken into account.

I dont want to turn this discussion into arsenal but I don't want us to be a sacking club. We wont gdt relegated whatever happens so give the manager time to build a club
True Blue Posted September 5, 2018 Posted September 5, 2018 It is refreshing to see a different team doing well, however it is too early to tell. Perhaps if they keep this up until December it could become serious.

Dave Posted September 8, 2018 Posted September 8, 2018 Watford boss Javi Gracia sees similarities between his team and Leicester's title-winning side from the 2015-16 season. Leicester caused the biggest upset in the Premier League era when they won the title as 5000-1 outsiders under Claudio Ranieri. Watford are the surprise contenders this season, having won their opening four games of the campaign - a start which saw Gracia named Premier League Manager of the Month for August. "We have started so well in the Premier League that we can be considered the new Leicester," Gracia told The Sun. "I am not scared of the comparison between Leicester and Watford. I am always going to live with the same naturalness after winning four games in a row and after losing four.

One for the didn't age well thread in a few months when they lose three matches and Watford give him the boot in favour of whatever next hipster Real Sociedad manager they manage to source from Europe.
Subscriber Dan+ Posted September 11, 2018 Subscriber Posted September 11, 2018 It's far too early to say. They have some good players in that side though, more than they get credit for. I really rate Doucoure and Pereyra. Deeney I also think would've been a far better signing for us than Slimani was.
Subscriber Dan+ Posted September 11, 2018 Subscriber Posted September 11, 2018 Watford have also started better than we did. They're already four points better off than we were. Just after now is when we had that absolutely silly run of 3 games in 5 where we went 2 goals down and didn't lose.
Danny Posted September 11, 2018 Posted September 11, 2018 Even if they were to do it, the title race this season is a lot stronger. City, Chelsea and Liverpool would outdo them.
Subscriber Dan+ Posted November 19, 2018 Subscriber Posted November 19, 2018 Still don't think them doing a Burnley is out of the picture. I expect Everton to get 7th, they've quite impressed me, but I wouldn't rule them or Bournemouth out of it. I expect all three of those to come above us, as well as Wolves. Man Utd have showed no serious signs of sorting their act out. Genuinely don't think it's implausible they come below Everton.

It's up to the board how this season will end, players will be sold but will they invest in the players Mou needs to reach the process final stages or Will he be stuck with the same Deadwood that has been holding the team back. Give me a man Utd with a healthy Pogba and i'll take them over any team right now! Which he signed. What did I say that was wrong?

Subscriber Dan+ Posted November 19, 2018 Subscriber Posted November 19, 2018 So to be clear, Leicester winning the title has made me not able to realise that Mourinho needs to clear out the shite he signed in order to come above Everton
