You look at Sarris Chelsea by comparison and in the same timeframe, while it's been far from all rosy for them, you can clearly see some progress in the style of play and overall results. That's ridiculous. When was the last time you were in a European final? This is an abysmal showing, but Arsenal have demonstrated that they're a side absolutely lacking in consistency. They made a European final and they improved on their previous season's league performance - when he's competing with 5 other clubs for the top 6 positions... and you want him to get the sack? The only way that works is if you have a sheik or an oil oligarch. Otherwise your club has to operate like a normal club and it takes a few years to see real change happen. Ehhh… I think Sarri's done well to get Chelsea into the top 4 and to a final, but I actually think Chelsea regressed a bit over the course of the season - early on it looked like Sarri was going to be an immediate success, then he lost his way massively. I think the two of them have had really similar seasons; but Sarri started with a better squad (champions 2 seasons ago, Arsenal on the decline for years). Arsenal's defending though is absolutely shambolic though and this sort of a performance in a final is an absolute embarrassment. Well looking at your backline and how they defend, any side that can get the ball and attack your defense should feel fairly confident they can get a result. These defenders are an embarrassment.
