Got a new cooking project. I'm going to make Döner Kebab from scratch. Already bought minced beef and veal. Just need a few more spices (I need to find Pul Biber). It all gets mixed together and goes into the freezer over the night, so that you have a proper roll, like in the Kebab shops: Just in small. Then you slice the still half frozen meat off and fry it in a pan.3 points

Commodore 64 had games on tape as did the BBC. The Commodore Amiga had games on floppy disks.2 points

Well if this pans out to be true then I will be pleased for him, He will be under a different kind of pressure than when he was at Chelsea.. Still pressure to get results though so hopefully he can help turn their fortunes around even if it's in the short term... He does at least try and get the youth through but for that to have long term gains you need a couple of seasons at least and most clubs are not really up for that in the Premier League.. Priority for now though is to try and fight your way out of that bottom 51 point

Two things here. 1. I forgot about the mini seizures they tried to give you when loading the game up. 2. I jumped half a mile when the loading sound first came on. Must never have the volume high again.1 point

Okay I do remember the way it used to load up like that as it loaded the game. I've got a Spectrum emulator on my PC now because the last time I was home my dad was so excited they existed and showed me the games he used to play and that I used to watch my brother play (and I probably also used to play, but I don't remember playing until we had a Super Nintendo... so maybe my brother was just a dick).1 point

This is how it used to load up... line by line until the game screen was full then it would play the game... Codemasters used to knock these out at about £1.99 per cassette... they went from tapes to floppies when the Amiga & Atari ST were knocking about...1 point

I still had Commodore 64 tapes as well. My parents never wanted to spend much money on that kind of stuff, so I was a bit behind when it came to gaming technology, as we usually bought old stuff from relatives who got newer stuff. I remember the tape loading screen that could give you a seizure if you looked at it too long. The only game I had on tape that I can remember is Western Games. And then plenty of other games floppy disk.1 point

I'll still watch this but well past it's sell by date. I think Brook should win and always believed he would in their primes. There'll probably be a rematch as there is a clause in there, just to milk every penny they can get. It's all Khan's doing why it's only happening now.1 point

I'm not as old as @Bluewolf but do vaguely remember games being on tape for some systems. If memory serves right, I think the Spectrum used tapes for games and I did have a Commodore 64 back in the day.1 point

I'm not sure what point people are trying to make with this information to be honest. A lot of the 130-odd thousand would still be alive if not for Covid. Underlying health condition doesn't mean they were already seriously ill. It's absolutely nuts that we've got to a point where we have people being happy to write off others who might have otherwise lived another 10, 20, 30 years. Without the lockdown early in the pandemic and the vaccines now the figures would be much higher. Deaths from other diseases increasing so much (if that's the case, the figures provided in that video are a guess by some former WHO doctor) are an unfortunate effect of an under funded health service.1 point

You can't dispute the 17k deaths, its from the freedom of information act, these are the official figures. the numbers you quoted are people who have had a serious illnesses then contracted covid and its finished them off like a flu or any other virus would in that state1 point

Lampard has scope to improve as a manager and knows the league. Pereira is a bang average journeyman who comes with this stubborn 3-4-1-2 formation, has a reputation for upsetting players who don't adapt to his methods quickly and is only even in the mix because his agent is Kia J who has latched himself onto the latest moronic rich football club owner he's identified in Farhad Moshiri. Lampard has his faults but get real here. I could go to Porto, Olympiakos and Fenerbahce with @Dr. Gonzo as my assistant manager and hit 60-70% win percentages in those leagues. The Chelsea job was too soon for Lampard but this idea that he's an absolutely terrible manager feels more driven by narrative than evidence to me. We're absolutely toxic right now. Any manager with a bit of experience, a bit of potential and some evidence that they can get results, even if that evidence is mixed, is a catch for us at the moment.1 point

Former Werder Bremen manager Markus Anfang has been banned from football for a year after using a fake Covid-19 vaccination certificate. Anfang, 47, has been fined 20,000 euros (£16,700), while his former assistant Florian Junge, 36, was banned for 10 months and fined 3,000 euros (£2,500). When I think back to the days of the Amstrad 464 and the Commodore 64 when games used to come on tapes then 23 years is a mere piffle... They used to load up on the screen line by line and sometimes after waiting what seemed like half the night to load you might get unlucky and get a 'Read Error B' pop up at the bottom just as it was due to finish then would have to start all over again..1 point
