Don't remember much about the school lunch, but it used to be quite decent. Always some kind of soup and then a choice of the main dish. Schnitzel, curd cheese pudding, potato pancakes, meatballs were the usual suspects.

We used to buy chocolate cigarettes at a kiosk after school xD

I'd say I went to secondary school at the perfect time to be honest.

There was also the £1 special from the local chippy. Sausage, chips and gravy(or peas/curry) for just a quid! You can't even afford the gravy on its own for that now.

Remember my uncles telling me about the days when chips were 15p. You used to get a huge portion wrapped in newspaper.

Have noticed this over the last 5 years or so. Even the ones who used to be top notch have dropped in standard. Hard to get good fish and chips now.

While it may not be 100% true this is starting to do the rounds now with a test on rhesus monkeys confirming a first pass.

:4_joy: fuck me. 5 million human beings have the virus, human trials going on across the world, but there's labs with monkeys locked in cages being deliberately infected to see if they can get it again. This adds absolutely nothing to science.

Surprised PETA haven't been out in force over this.

Also, the Welsh Government have been reported to the EHRC due to fears older people's rights could have been breached due to 'slow testing' in care homes, with one care home apparently being threatened by Swansea Bay health board to be reported to higher authorities if they continued to resist taking patients in.

The reason they weren't being taken in by the care home?

Swansea Bay were not happy about being asked to test patients before being allowed into care homes.

Also, Vaughan Gething had been, admittedly a bit harshly, criticised for sitting down and eating at a picnic bench with his family, which was against lockdown rules as you could only sit for a short period of time and not actually eat there (as people have been moved on for things like this).

So it came as no surprised when shortly after this occurred, the Welsh Government amended the rules so that people can now sit and eat when exercising in Wales, with Drakeford denying that they were connected (absolute horseshit).

And in probably the most random moment possible, the area that Gething did sit at in Cardiff Bay has been cordoned off, despite people now being allowed to sit and eat.

The Welsh Government's reason for it being cordoned off?

Littering. xD

https://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/wales-news/vaughan-gething-chips-fence-lockdown-18270812

Apparently they're saying that there's been a significant amount of Littering there in the last week and that the area has been cordoned off until more bins are installed.

Just for clarification, we're still in lockdown and can only exercise locally, so unless Cardiff Bay is suddenly rammed with people exercising, that's an absolutely pathetic excuse.

But of course, there's plenty of time for yet another pot shot at the UK Government, despite having no real plans of our own other than a traffic light system as our exit strategy.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-politics-52737372

As I mentioned before, this is primarily about the hypocrisy of the Welsh Government as if this were the UK Government, they'd be hung out to dry by comparison.

There was actually an E block and C block, as they were separated from the main building xD

Funnily enough I was working across from the back of the school a few years back as there used to be a farm there, which has been demolished with houses being built and I could see in the background that the school has a huge fence around it nowadays. So it's funny you mention prison..

To be honest a lot of schools back in the day resembled prisons, one block one side and another across the yard that was fenced off and enclosed constantly being patrolled by the Guards.. I mean Teachers...

School was like a prison on Tuesday. We have a designated "exercise time" where we take the kids we're supervising outside for 20 minutes of exercise so on Tuesday we just wandered around on the tennis courts like it was a prison.

Today was a different matter as one of the other teachers brought a football in so I went in goal for a penalty competition. I won on account of the fact that I saved more penalties than any of the kids managed to score individually.

Most fun I've had in two months and exactly why 95% of teachers in the country are dying to get back into school and do their jobs normally again no matter what you read in those vile newspapers or from ghoulish right-wing twitter mouthpieces who can't write a sentence without throwing "the left" or "marxist" or "socialist" or "communist" in there at some point.

Yes, especially as the kids I faced were 11 and 12, not even 13.

Distinctly possible. Either that or he was "just being sarcastic to see what you nasty, unhelpful reporters would do".

Think it was mentioned near the start of the outbreak that Chinese New Year was a huge catalyst for it.

Agree with the bottom statement. Needed change for a while but it's just how we've gone about it.

I try not to get hung up too much on seeing all these long queues at drive-thrus now that fast-food chains have re-opened but kind of tells you a lot - how much people are pining to back and hit those chains and even more so, happily sit for 2-3 hours in their car just to get on a limited menu (at McDonalds, anyway).

I don't mind having fast food but not that desperate xD

Plus it's about exercise not just the food served up anyway. I have no idea what it's like in schools these days but I remember in all my school years from lower through to 6th form there was emphasis on PE/Games and sport time throughout the week.

Yeah theirs going to be a massive upheaval in nutritional facts and health regulations.

Also I suggested Vitamin D the other dang and I saw this just, I think there may be something to it
