Asura Posted August 7, 2019 Posted August 7, 2019 Looking forward to the season... looks like Arsenal did a decent piece of business but still missing centre backs... Quote
...Dan Posted August 8, 2019 Posted August 8, 2019 Lacazette and Aubameyang have both signed new deals. So this how it feels to support a well run club. Quote

Gotta keep your superstars on long deals. Makes transfers away less likely and keeps their value nice and high. Quote

It's what we have always done until recently, problem is player power is increasing and players like Ramsey are showing the way. Watch Eriksen and Toby follow his example. Got to tie them down when you can because when they get down to 2 years and under all the cards shift into their hands 1 Quote

Chaaay AFC Posted September 2, 2019 Posted September 2, 2019 Some really nice news going into the international break, Matteo Guendouzi has earned his first senior international call-up for France. I believe this is an injury replacement, but a fantastic achievement considering his age and competition. I wasn't as blown away by him when he first joined as some other fans, but he really grew on me as the season progressed and to start this season he has jumped up another few levels which is unbelievable. He has been a stupendous find and for only £7m it's exceptional business. Really think he has the makings to be one of the best around. Quote
Dr. Gonzo Posted September 6, 2019 Posted September 6, 2019 I didn't know where else to post this but I thought it was amusing. When I type in "Mustafi" into my iPhone, the phone wants to correct it to "Mistakes" Quote

Administrator Batard Posted September 12, 2019 Administrator Posted September 12, 2019 Why the fuck does Per Mertesacker sound like a Ali G impersonator? I watched the video of him talking about the youth academy and I was taken aback by how different he sounds. He's lost his German accent ... Innit bruv! Quote

It is hilarious because he will say 'better' in a non-rhotic English accent (bettah) and then say 'academy' and 'players' in what sounds closer to his natural accent. No 'r' sound on 'better' but a very harsh 'r' on 'player' 1 Quote

SirBalon Posted September 13, 2019 Posted September 13, 2019 Alexandre Lacazette is out until October due to an ankle injury. This is a big blow but there are positives in the sense that Emery can now play a more traditional setup in midfield. Let’s hope Aubameyang doesn’t also get injured during this period. Quote
6666 Posted September 13, 2019 Posted September 13, 2019 (edited) One of the things that I wasn't too happy about with our transfer window was that we let Welbeck go out on a free and then sent Nketiah out on loan without bringing in a striker. Martinelli could be played there but he's more on a second striker or winger. Aubameyang is pretty much our only striker right now. Some good news though is that Bellerin, Holding, Mavropanos and Tierney are all back from injury and in full training. Edited September 13, 2019 by 6666 Quote

Chaaay AFC Posted September 27, 2019 Posted September 27, 2019 Well Emery asked for player opinion and if they feel Xhaka is the right choice then fair enough. Wasn't a whole lot of choice, but would like to see Aubameyang be vice at least. I do think Bellerin would have been my pick though. Quote

Can't really argue if that's what the rest of the squad want - he's clearly someone they can rely on and think can lead them. Wonder if Emery thought the same. Quote
True Blue Posted September 27, 2019 Posted September 27, 2019 The vote part is silly, they can just vote for the favorite player in the dressing room without him being captain material. Not that we have any but this Arsenal team isn't really full of leaders either. Quote
