Probably at least 11 players.

Why you'd get the sat at home though, heck knows!!

Lots of rumours on Twitter and now the BBC that the game tonight is being postponed as one of the Ukraine players has covid; their left-back, Tickili Chestikov.

Well with Schick's goal, the Czech Republic are now right back in this. Schick is another who has had an excellent Euros, what a key player he is for the Czechs!

It'd be great if he keeps it up for club!

Mount and Sancho come into the starting 11 for England, the sort of luxury only a few countries can afford. Declan Rice and Phillips will carry on doing hard running and ball winning in midfield.

For Ukraine, they make one change from their last match. Mykolenko starts in place of Stepanenko. While it looks like Zinchenko will move into Stepenenko's position in the holding midfield position in midfield, while Mykolenko will play on the left flank where Zinchenko played in the last match. A bit of a strange decision, given how well Zinchenko played out wide and how well Stepanenko did in defensive midfield, but I guess Shevchenko knows best.

I do prefer this system but it does set up the narrative that as soon as we decided not to be defensive, we got knocked out.

If England do not make the final, is the tournament for the team deemed a success?

or is knocking out Germany the equivalent of making the first tournament final since 66?

Aye, stick with what you know at least first half. Got 5 subs to make in second to make things more “adventurous”

Not unless they make the final in my honest opinion.

Couldn't get a game for England. Signs for Man Utd, gets in starting line up immediately.

:4_joy:

Has more to do with transfer being done.  His mind is clear,  no longer worried about the transfer anymore, and fired up to prove he's worth the transfer fee.   Would have started who ever he was transfered to,

Some useless trivia to perhaps boost some confidence:

1) every time England beat Germany in a knockout game they won the championship

2) since the turn of the century, whoever beat Germany in a knockout game reached the final at minimum

2002 Brazil champions

2006 Italy champions

2008 Spain champions

2010 Spain champions

2012 Italy finalists

2016 France finalists

2020(21) England

Ukraine keep their 3-5-2 formation, but no Malinovskyi in the team or bench because of injury is a big blow. I expect Sancho and Mount to have a big match.

One huge difference in the current English squad is Pickford as the keeper.
think he really brings confidence in the back even if it goes pk, he’s good to make a save.
with respect, past England keepers didn’t exude the same confidence
