Looking at the squad the ages are concerning. For the most part late approaching or past 30 or teenaged. Outside of Robertson and Alexander-Arnold every player is either on the ascendancy or the descent due to age or injuries.

For sure. The dynamic midfield that made Klopp's system at it's best work too is now relying on older and injury prone players that just aren't as dynamic. It's not very creative and it's not very good at covering for our high line with overlapping fullbacks anymore. It's just not great for us to keep the system that's worked so well ticking along smoothly.

Not often Liverpool gets overrun and can't handle the intensity.

Might be pretty often this season, tbh.

What's consensus on Darwin Nunez? Seems to be the talented but unreliable Diego Costa type.

I called him the Uruguayan Timo Werner.

Likes to drift wide. Decent finisher but poor all around game outside the box.

I've not seen him enough to make a judgment on him other than he looks very raw but also is an absolute idiot. Hopefully he can develop into a decent player quickly, but I've got big doubts on him coming good any time soon tbh.

Last time we signed a player from Benfica that was highly rated, he ended up being absolute dogshit... so that's probably weighing on me too.

What's up with Milner constantly yelling at VVD? Milner has had a mare so the actual audacity. 😂

He's all over the place. Taking free role to another level xD

It's kind of a problem team's have, the person that handled it best was Alex Ferguson, and currently Real Madrid. Teams HAVE to know when to sell a player or move on, or reduce them to squad players. You'd think Man Untd were mad selling Ruud van Nistelrooy but it was the best decision.

What do you do with Thiago, Milner, Henderson, they are all over 32 I'm sure. Great players no doubt but they gonna get lapped players born in 2004

  • The title was changed to Man Utd 2-0 Liverpool - Monday 22nd August, 2022

To be fair to Milner, it looks like VVD really believes his own hype when it comes to defending. The performance for the first goal was ridiculous, as though he was trying to psyche Sancho out rather than get out to him.

However, yes, Milner has been bad also.

Gotta get the right players though. The squad is plenty full of 18 year olds.

I don’t want 18 year olds, but you’re telling me Bissouma or Madison can’t play in this team? They would thrive. Clearly, us rely on injury prone players until “the right” midfielder comes along isn’t working. Are we just mean to write season off in search for the absolute perfect player. There are more than one option.

Am I still a dick for saying we need more players? This season showcases it. Absolute rubbish.

No. It was quite clear to see that the squad needed investment not to replace any outgoing players, but to keep competition fresh and the squad at the top level.

I know there's injuries and Jota/Thiago would have made a huge difference, but that bench screams inexperience. Not what you'd expect of a side expecting to challenge for all competitions. But through injuries is where squad depth comes to its advantage.

Don't worry mate, we're not even close to contending for the title this year. We look absolute dogshit, it'll be a struggle for us to make top 4. You've maybe got Arsenal or Spurs to worry about, but even then... I think you'll run away with the league.

I think selling Minamino and not Firmino may have been a big mistake.

Hold on, I'm trying to defend you, you can't have Maddison and that's final
