Waylander Posted December 5, 2022 Posted December 5, 2022 Yes the Japanese have slowed not so much rapid closing down and the Croation forwards are taller than the Japanese defenders. Could be another headed goal takes this one.
El Profesor Posted December 5, 2022 Posted December 5, 2022 After his World Cup performances, I expect Gvardiol to end up in a big club. The kid is the real deal.

Subscriber Mel81x+ Posted December 5, 2022 Subscriber Posted December 5, 2022 And we're at penalties. Feel like Japan might go out here.
Subscriber Mel81x+ Posted December 5, 2022 Subscriber Posted December 5, 2022 Tough luck on the Japanese but they really should have done better with their penalties.
Cicero Posted December 5, 2022 Posted December 5, 2022 Credit to Japan in making it out of the group. Bit of quality and experience sends them home unfortunately.
Waylander Posted December 5, 2022 Posted December 5, 2022 Need penalty practise might be their first experience of them.
Lucas Posted December 5, 2022 Posted December 5, 2022 Got a little soft spot for Croatia having gone there back in September. I know what it means to their people when the national team come together for the big tournaments, they are so proud of the team who time and time again, always get themselves to the business end of tournaments. Incredible for such a small country and I'm happy for the people to celebrate this given so many struggle to make much on their meagre wages. At least they have Football.

Croatia is a lovely part of the world, one of the nicest countries in Europe IMO. I'm the same as you, always happy to see them do well.
Machado Posted December 5, 2022 Posted December 5, 2022 Wasn't close that. Don't even feel like Livakovic did particularly well. Fatigue might have been a factor there.
Subscriber Dan+ Posted December 5, 2022 Subscriber Posted December 5, 2022 What an absolute letdown for Japan to put all that work in over those games to undo it with penalties like that. Croatia draw every bloody game.

Michael Posted December 5, 2022 Posted December 5, 2022 End to end match, where both sides had chances. It was a very close match, which I had anticipated. In the end, Croatia prevailed on penalties. Maeda's goal was an instinctive finish, while Perisic showed great technique and accuracy with his headed equaliser. Hard luck to Japan, they showed that they have an excellent side at this World Cup, but it's the experienced Croatian side that advance to the quarter finals.
