Subscriber Pyfish+ Posted September 11, 2019 Subscriber Posted September 11, 2019 What countries would you be eligible to play for due to family like parents, uncles, grandparents and great-grandparents? And which would you actually play for given the nod?
SirBalon Posted September 11, 2019 Posted September 11, 2019 England through birth and Spain through parents and obviously descendants. My son is in an even better position due to my wife being Italian where he can play for England through birth, Spain due to the fact I'm dual national and have given him full Spanish nationality and the same with my wife where he's also got an Italian passport... Three passports, three nationalities for three great footballing nations in Spain, Italy and England.
Guest Posted September 11, 2019 Posted September 11, 2019 Peru through birth, Canada through passport and I would also be eligible for England (my grandparents are from Ipswich). I think anyways, not sure how the process works but even my surname is British.
Administrator Stan Posted September 11, 2019 Administrator Posted September 11, 2019 England through birth. India & Kenya through parents/grand-parents.
Subscriber Mel81x+ Posted September 11, 2019 Subscriber Posted September 11, 2019 India through birth Portugal through parents/grandparents Given my time and residence permit in the UAE I think I'd like to have played for them when I was younger. Adnan Al-Talyani was a hero of mine growing up and he played for one club his whole career so if I did have a chance I'd play for them.
Inverted Posted September 11, 2019 Posted September 11, 2019 Just Scotland I think. Can't actually trace further back than my great grandparents, who were all born here.
Subscriber Viva la FCB+ Posted September 16, 2019 Subscriber Posted September 16, 2019 Canada and Germany for me as I have dual citizenship thanks to my faja. Id have a decent shot at making the Canadian team
Subscriber Dan+ Posted September 17, 2019 Subscriber Posted September 17, 2019 England through birth. Potentially Canada through my grandma who was born there but moved to England aged 3. So me and Brian could actually play together internationally.
Spike Posted September 17, 2019 Posted September 17, 2019 Australia only but I do have English grandparents but I have never met them.
Subscriber Pyfish+ Posted September 17, 2019 Author Subscriber Posted September 17, 2019 Mine's England through birth, and Wales through very distant family apparently. I'd play for England though if I had a choice.
Panna King Posted September 17, 2019 Posted September 17, 2019 Netherlands, Indonesia, Curacao and Australia.
Subscriber RandoEFC+ Posted September 29, 2019 Subscriber Posted September 29, 2019 Apparently being born on the Isle of Man I'd be eligible for England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland and Northern Ireland. Too bad I'm shit.
Subscriber CaaC (John)+ Posted September 29, 2019 Subscriber Posted September 29, 2019 Scotland, England, Ireland & Australia and my choice would be Scotland.

What if he went on to play IN Spain and chose to go to Real Madrid? @Teso dos Bichos would suit wearing the USA badge...

Somone actually joked about that to me the other day and I told him straight which is something I cannot repeat here. Just to say, it isn't going to happen mate, I'll make damned sure about that.

I banned my younger brother who was born here from my xbox after he bought a Spazzo's Jersey
