nudge may find it difficult to answer as it may seem that she will appear to make out that she is part of a superior world - problem is in many ways - she is! I have spent years looking after young people mainly in the UK but often in Germany. When the education system changed here in the 70s and we added the word comprehensive to our system, a lot of the discipline and control went out of the window. Those kids then are the parents now and their offspring often suffer from that the lack of form of parental control we older folk had - so we tend to accept authority when it is necessary rather than continue all the time to question it. Teaching boys and girls these days in Germany is like it was back in the 70s in the UK - OK there are exceptions, but mainly their discipline and respect is way above the UK norm. In the present situation it is natural that the way young people are brought up in Germany as opposed to the UK would suggest they may well take note of instructions rather than requests and hence the obedience to the sensible proposals being made in both countries is greater there than here. I know that is a very big generalisation, but it only needs a few idiots to spoil things and give the rest the impression that it is OK to go off to the beach or the countryside without a thought for others. Trouble is they then are the source of news bulletins rather than those who are staying inside as doing the right thing. Many German clubs have their 'ultras', but they are very quiet at the moment! Oh and one final PS The German folk have to listen to Angela We have Boris and Michael - 'nuff said!2 points

As @Eco has mentioned, I've had my hands full recently. Both my wife and I work in the medical field, so our family is constantly worried about us. I have family in Arezzo face timing and saying they are worried about me...My daughter's daycare has closed so I've been trying to keep her busy 5 days in the week. Appreciate the concern, but everything is fine.2 points

Am a Muslim myself but these guys have taken the biscuit. They need a twatting and think they're above and beyond the law. These groups love to argue and are hard to reason with.1 point

Then you come to England:- You shouldn't laugh really though, but this is the behaviour of people in this country. On the last day before schools shut, 100+ teenagers went up to the park near where I live as well. But it's not even only younger generations, it's all of them. A lot of the elderly are probably the most stubborn of all.1 point

Good point about the cops. The cops and Municipal Corporation men and women here are actually visiting every home in the slums to track and scan people, because the people who attended the Jammat gathering are not disclosing everything. I am not even going to talk about their leaders actually urging people to gather. Fucking mental. And the talk on Twitter is something else. Like the only people (woke idiots) making this about religion are the ones telling everyone to not make it about religion. Mind you, a similar thing happened with a Sikh Gurdwara in Punjab, but the Sikhs there have been super cooperative with the authorities. I also agree that some cops have been dicks, like the ones in Ahmedabad who knocked down vegetable carts, but majority of them are on the streets managing people, feeding poor and maintaining peace for 12-13 hours under extremely hot temperatures.1 point

Its such a circus. You can't really do anything because on one hand you have people blaming the govt. for being anti-<insert religious group> and on the other side you have people arguing that this should all be stopped with zero care to the fact that people are conglomerating and helping spread the virus. I err on the side of, this is a lockdown either learn that fast or get punished for doing so. I empathize with cops who are getting the worst treatment in all of this and even with all the social media stuff going around with how they are abusing people I still think they are doing a very good job for the most part.1 point

Not sure the tests have any great bearing on a step change in deaths. Which things have they lied about? Genuine question. Just switched the press conference off because the quality of journalism is shoddy. They're so aggressive it's ridiculous. Like foaming tweeters and it makes the questions naff.1 point

Well if you look at how the construction of Berlin Brandenburg airport has been going then you'll see that Germany is not always that efficient... But I know what you mean and there's some truth to pretty much any stereotype. I think a lot of it is down to bureaucracy, fondness of following the rules and getting things done right the first time by following established practices. I don't think efficiency has much to do with the virus numbers in Germany though.1 point

Why Asia’s New Wave of Virus Cases Should Worry the World https://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/coronavirus/why-asias-new-wave-of-virus-cases-should-worry-the-world/ar-BB120k99?ocid=spartanntp1 point

Let's be honest when you see things like this it makes a mockery of the isolation rules.... To think that people get upset at seeing a few people out jogging or walking their dogs a full road width away from each other then you see this going on every single day... Shutting down London Transport is the only way to stop this but without it we are in a different world of hurt...1 point

They're fine for now and yes Goa has handled this the worst. The fact that people were almost without supplies for a week or a way to get them was ludicrous. I even heard that the CPRF were lathi charging people in yards when they went to ask for where to get supplies. Luckily things have gotten a lot better now but Pramod is a grade A cunt and this just shows how inept he has been since the start of this whole lockdown. Today, I am hearing news that liquor outlets in Bangalore have opened up. I can of course confirm this because yesterday the entire neighborhood was a ghost-town and today theres a lot of activity and its kids on bikes.1 point

Ok buddy, keeping myself fit for the fight in the Mafia Game coming up, I will be watching you Cliff Managed to go out yesterday I had been stuck indoors for a week and it was driving me round the twist, went up Iceland pensioner hour and picked up what we needed (home delivery) then headed back home, our son has handed his taxi back in for now because of the petrol costs etc and the fares were pretty bad too, he was lucky if he had one fare all-day but he is helping out a lot because he is staying here and will be up early and do some more shopping for us. Still coughing a wee bit but my body has stopped aching, no headaches, I normally get up around 04.30 and take my medicine which includes paracetamol and our daughter has told me to take 2 teaspoons full of honey in the morning she gave us for the grandson, she swears by that and it's quite tasty too, the paracetamol helps a lot.1 point

A week or so into lockdown and we’re arguing whether stress is real or not. Good start.1 point

Thinking of getting a Golden Retriever when this pandemic subsides. The only reason I ever stopped myself was because I didn't have enough time to dedicate to the dog but I think the time is right now and I have prior experience with a labrardor as well so I figure I have done rowdy now I'll do disciplined.1 point

Hans Selye invented the word stress in respect of the mental condition when he was a kid studying in Hungary and it has been abused as a word since then - but it is less than 100 years old in that respect. It was never meant to be that and if you are fed-up or had enough of something then you get out of it by mis-using the word stress as an excuse. If you do not accept that you should spend some time with modern kids in school and just listen to the excuses why their work - including homework - has not been completed. They seem to feel that 'I was too stressed to do it' covers all!1 point

Please , Please, Please do not allow yourself to use the word 'Stress' Older friends will tell you that it was used in Physics to explain what happened when you heated and bent metals and these days it is used purely as an excuse by people when they cant be bothered to do something. We all get a little anxious or worried at times, but 'stress' and the use of the word makes it sound and, to many, makes it feel worse. The fact we are here, mainly well and mostly trying to beat this thing is proof that so-called 'stress' is a myth which exists to deny happiness and contentment. As I posted elsewhere and as Vera sang in the 40's 'There'll come another day'. Take care and enjoy each day!1 point

Keep yourself busy and use the time to learn something new to use in the future. Communicate with your friends online, it´s not the same but better than nothing. Go out for a walk.1 point

Talking to folks on line is never the same as face to face, but there are lots of daft threads on here which will keep your mind slightly(?) active. I'm sure the one which CaaC and I are presently keeping going on the Music section will give you a chance to 'shine' with your own knowledge of your own fav music. Come on over - the water's OK!1 point

Now it's closer to home - The young nurse who is a Cancer Nurse at a local hospital and who lives in the Apartment below has gone down with it so we are being extra careful at the moment and leaving her groceries outside her door when she is short. She is fit and reasonably well and getting over the thing - probably 2 or 3 more days, but she regrets that she cannot work but also she was unable to be tested before she found out what had happened. as they often say - it's coming to a place near you!!!! All take care.1 point

So, theres two sides to that particular question one is based in India the other is based in Nepal and both are equally pretty. India Hit up Markha Valley it is gorgeous in the late summer time when the fields are green. Do the glacier trek near the Gangotri and I'd say before this do about two days of field trekking because its a bit nuts in terms of a trek and will require a bit of stamina. However, the guides will ensure that you get time to rest. It's a seasonal thing though and right around October all the way to Jan they shut it down Himachal Pradesh Treks If you want to see the Himalayan range but not really do much of a trek in that are you can head down to Places like the following Mcloedganj - Medium to High Diff Tosh Valley - Medium Diff Dharamshala - This is superb for group trekking and has a river camp too Spiti Valley - The view, the water and the air oh my god the air. It makes you wish that you didn't have to go home. This is one of my favorite places in Himachal and the road there is also very pretty Kanatal - Good for light trekking and they have a nice view of the valley in the night and during the day. The trek goes up to a temple where you can look all around and you get a nice view. Early morning treks only before winter as there are problems with the winds which face the Himalayan side. You can also see the big mountains on a clear day and if you're very lucky you'll start to see what they call snow shine down in the forests that surround the area. If you meet the locals and they challenge you to cricket play them and then laugh when you beat them, of course buy them some tea and biscuits post it. Good folks. Mussoorie - Tram rides up in the little city, nice views of the valley and its on the way to Kanatal. Nepal Everest Base Camp - Might as well go trekking in a trash dump when you start because its filthy. But, once you get past the regular stuff it gets really pretty and is a big strain so I'd train before I go there. Mustang - Pretty nice and takes a toll on your body but its well worth the view. I lost my camera on this trek because someone thought it was a good idea to take selfies and forgot it somewhere. Never again. Whatever you decide to do plan about a day ahead because you're going to have to deal with travel time, stopping at places, etc. The roads are a bit windy and if anyone offers you to sit in an older jeep up the road say no if you get car sick easy. IMO both sides of the Himalayas are pretty it all depends on what you want to see. If you want to see gorgeous hill-side houses with mountains and drink some very nice and strong beer along with enjoying some good local hospitality theres also Tibet which can be reached from India via a place called Sikkim and that ride across the border is also a super journey.1 point

It has found its way in two of the city's biggest slums. Especially, Dharavi which is Asia's second biggest slum. The patient from Dharavi owned a garment shop and has just died. Watch this spread like fire now.0 points
