In the 1986 world cup, Maradonna in 7 games got 5 assists and and 5 goals. He was involved in 10 out of the 14 goals Argentina scored that World Cup, these are seriously insane stats. He helped Napoli win 2 league titles, Uefa Cup and a few other domestic cups. This is when AC Milan had their great Dutch players, Inter had the Germans and Juventus were also a top side. Argentina nor Napoli weren't meant to win what they did, Diego made the difference.

No other player in history could have dragged that Argentina side to World Cup glory or helped Napoli win what they did.

The scary thing is, he's considered the greatest by many, yet only fulfilled around 70% of his potential.

Saw a stat the other day that surprised me, had no idea about it. Napoli had never won a trophy, Maradona turns up and helps them win the league twice and UEFA Cup, and to date they've not won a major trophy since. Gives you some idea (if anyone ever needed it) of how revered he is in Naples and why they view him as they do.

Didn't they winsix Coppa Italia trophies? Two before Maradona came to the club and three since he left.

Seeing old videos of his matches, he got kicked left right all the time but didn't dived that alone stands him out of all these modern grassrollers

Probably the most kicked player of all times by far, and for free which is the worst, they wanted to chop him down because there was no way they were stopping him otherwise. If it wasn't for that probably would have won us 82 WC too xD, he even played the whole 90 WC injured, legendary.

Diego dragged Argentina to the final of the 1990 World Cup as well, but yeah, 1986 was Maradona's World Cup. He had insane natural talent and if he had looked after himself better, he would have had even more success than he already achieved.

But is he good as Dan James?

Allegedly, 2/3 of the idiots who took pictures with his body are dead. The Boca Ultras are said to have caught up with all three and the third is in a critical condition.

It’s a bollocks post on Twitter. He even claimed a video from March of a body in a dumpster was one of them.

Popular to contrary belief, Maradona didn’t drag that 1986 team. That was an efficient unit where the tactics fit the squad’s composition. Really disrespectful to the other players, and manager especially, with comments like that.

Look back to what I said:

I was talking about Argentina's 1990 World Cup team. Maradona was the main reason the Argentine team of 1990 reached the World Cup final. Their team of 1990 wasn't great, it was mainly Maradona's creativity as well as good performances from Caniggia and Goycochea that helped them to the final.

As for the 1986 World Cup, sure Argentina had a good team, but Maradona was still head and shoulders above the rest of them. Maradona essentially won them the 86 World Cup.
