He is a poisoned chalice who can only damage the club. 2. If you think Pogba would improve Liverpools midfield, or even belongs at that club at all, you don't understand football. At the very very least, you don't understand what makes Liverpool and city so much better than the rest of the league. He doesn't improve their starting 11,(beyond probably being a better option than Henderson against teams who won't press them back) He's WAY too expensive and high profile to be a squad option. He's far too lazy for a side like Liverpool and managed by Klopp. He just doesn't really fit the bill for what you'd expect of a player at Liverpool. Pogba has definitely underachieved and underperformed at United but a part of successful recruitment is about identifying players who are struggling for one reason or another at another club but that have ability to react positively to a different style of coaching. But we'll see. Maybe this is Man City's 3rd move to force United into a long term deal with someone who is definitely not worth bringing in. Pogba's weaknesses I think are why managers like Klopp and Pep would be weary of signing him or a player like him. United have needed someone in their midfield to stand up and be counted when times are tough and honestly whenever times are truly tough for United Pogba's been anonymous. For Klopp, I think he just doesn't have the right mentality to play for us - and he certainly wouldn't work in our midfield 3 I think... and he's pretty insistent on sticking with his 4-3-3 (and tbh it works great with the players we have, so why add a player that'd require a midfield built around him?) Pep's got more wiggle room with his tactics for midfielders, but I just don't think Pogba would be a good addition for them either. Don't get me wrong, I think he'd look a hell of a lot better in City's midfield than United's - he's got a track record of doing well in already world class midfields. But I just don't think he's any better than what they've currently got and if they're looking for players that'll give them the edge in a CL... I just don't think he's the right player for them to add, you need players that don't give up when things get tough for that. I can't see him turning the tide for City after Madrid scored with their second shot on target to force extra time - I could definitely see him letting his head drop and being a part of the midfield that didn't really have an answer to Madrid, though. Immensely talented player, but by this point has bounced around a few clubs now and also proven to be a significant risk. I wouldn't want us to sign him at all, and definitely not for any fee. He's an amazing physical specimen, and you notice him when he plays well. But I just think he's a big ego with a risk of poisoning the dressing room, and so much of our success is how well we gel. United expected a talisman signing, I think they got someone that seems to mainly excel when other great players are around him. Pirlo, Vidal and Marchisio were a great midfield and Pogba was an all around we that fitted into that because you had a specialist in passing, defending and transitioning already there. For me the team that he will excel with the most are the team that has a similar type of midfield option. I think he’d do better at Madrid than PSG because Madrid already have quality players in that midfield so that the weight of expectation isn’t on him completely. United massively overpaid and made him a talisman signing, but if you look at why he done well for Juve, won a World Cup for France, he requires talent around him to perform at his best. The problem is when your highlight reel is you scoring screamers your value will most likely increase beyond what it should be.
