maybe kidney stones/gall stones.

had a bit of pain a couple weeks ago. Went to docs, got referred to have a precautionary scan either 1) to see if there is anything there in the kidney/bladder or 2) to see if all organs working fine anyway.

Will find out results next week!

update (I did get the results soon after the above post), they've not just arrived now xD .

I have kidney stones in my right kidney. Pain has been fucking devilish last few days and first time I've had it in a few weeks. Have an appointment with a consultant in a couple of weeks time.

I really don't want an op. Just wish they'd pass through with ease...

Ouch. My stepfather had them years ago, didn't need an op though as he was prescribed some meds that helped dissolve them and he just pissed them out haha.

yep, I'm hoping the latter too!

It's actually agony and it's got to the point I can feel the pain working its way from the kidney to the bladder sometimes.

Ask your pharmacist :P

Generally, alcohol + antihistamines is not a very good combination.

Haha yeah so I've read online, alcohol isn't good for hay fever either.

I've only really sort of realised I have hay fever in last few years but it's never really been that bad, very few problems with it (at least what I've been aware of). I'm having a severe case of it in Seville at the moment.

Hayfever tablets and alcohol OK?

What do you reckon?

How many you taking of each? Ha!

I thought if you mixed both it can make you very sleepy. Not sure if any other risks. Google or pharmacist it.

Just one tablet a day, was advised by the doctor to take them for ten days. Cheers mate.

Yeah I've googled it before, and yeah it says it may make you sleepy if you mix with alcohol and the general advice is not to it. Although, becoming 'sleepy' can be a side effect or symptom of antihistamines and alcohol anyway. Sort of just wondered if anyone on here has hay fever and had any experiences etc.

I had to see said doctor as when I was coming to the end of my trip in Valencia last week, the area around my eyes and nose and that part of the face became red. Thought it was just the sun and put it down to sunburn (although the truth is it felt a little different to that). Wasn't until I got back and was out playing football that I thought that it could have been something else, so went to see a doctor and she said it was allergies. Told me to take the tablets for the next ten days and of course we've just had the change in season and the climate is a lot different here in Seville compared to back home. I clocked shortly after seeing the doctor that I had been in and around the park in Valencia a lot. For those who don't know, there's a river that use to run through Valencia which has been turned into a big park and like the river it goes right through the city. I then quickly realised what may have caused the reaction. All these symptoms were new to me so I didn't know what it was.

Ouch. Get well soon mate. How you doing now?

And why so long to see a consultant?

Cheers mate.

Since that post the pain has eased up again so it's fine now.

Mate, in February I had my scan. The NHS, as much as I love them and appreciate every day the work they do, originally gave me an appointment in late June. That was the earliest I could see a specialist on their books.

Thankfully I can see a private consultant through BUPA as I have their cover through my work. For the local private hospital where I live, the appointment I have in a couple of weeks now is the earliest I could get.

Got a catch 22 though with the appointment - I don't want this pain because of how uncomfortable it can be but then if the pain goes, the doctors may not see anything at that time and therefore can't give any further diagnosis or prescribe any treatment. Or, I stick by the pain now, keep getting through the agony when it comes, and the doctors have something they can work on and treat.
