Its not unfair criticism. I'm not telling him to park the bus, I'm saying he should play his players to his strengths. He's not reading into the game either, his passing from the back has been off and he's not telling his players to play differently. He keeps playing out wide when they don't have the talent to hug the touchline. If you want to ridicule me, that's up to you but it just tells me you have failed to read this game and are going to blame everything on a lack of quality.

Russia is better on paper. I get it. That doesn't excuse how much of a disasterclass this has been tactically.

They're so far behind in quality it probably doesn't matter, even if there's a chance you're right about the tactics.

Better to be one of the elites of the sports you do care about rather than be like Iran,Saudis etc who are mad about football but are average at their best

partially agreed even though I would want India and few other countries like us to try themselves seriously in the global sport like football. Cricket is too limited overall with only 12-15 countries taking it seriously

Keeping the forum tidy, I'm sure we agreed in the staff room that childish behaviour should be acted upon, so I deleted what was a very immature reaction (however as it means so much to you, I can see you have put it back).

My god I hope this is intended to be a joke xD

Americans don't give a f** about how many nations play American football.

Be like America

Although Asura hockey is a global sport just doesn't has the money and we used to be good at it

Controversial opinion here, but these Saudi lads are shite. How on earth are they at a world cup?

I thought just their defense was pretty bad, they had some good moments offensively though

Two questions for those who know asian football:

How Saudi Arabia always qualify for the World Cup?

How the heck two countries with more than 1 billion inhabitants can never qualify for the World Cup?

When I was at school, there was quite a big population of Indians and only one of them played for our football team, although when it came to the cricket team, half of the side were Indians(which is probably why we always won xD) so maybe this explains it. While Indians in this country enjoy watching football, they don't seem as big on it as they are with cricket, which is their main sport. There was in fact just as many girls in our team as one used to play in our side(she was one of the best players as well) and pretty much all the black lads(and lass and she was herself) used to play for either the A or B team, so this explains a lot as these are English-Indians, ones who grew up and were born in a footballing country. I bet there will be even less in Indian itself, albeit the sport being more popular than ever over there in terms of people watching it. One day maybe all this will change though as football is becoming more and more global and has become a sport that everyone loves. The same can be said for countries such as the USA and Australia, who may well end up being some of the best nations in 50 years time or so, when footballing culture is more embedded into them.

I think population makes a difference when it comes to Brazil, but that is also because of the footballing culture there, then you add the larger talent pool to the equation and it makes you the ultimate footballing nation. But even if Brazil was half the size, you would still be one of the best as Brazilians bleed football.

@Machado a perfect example of my point: Iceland. They don't have great players but they perform as a unit. Saudi Arabia don't have great players and don't perform like a unit. If you're going to be shit, at least accept it and play to your strengths and don't expose your weaknesses. That's what Pizzi isn't figuring out nor you.

But you know I'm arrogant for applying my opinion that Pizzi has produced a tactical disasterclass. Christ.

Icelandic players know their football and their physical preparation is as good as any. They've learned their football in Europe and most play in the big leagues, even if in mid-table clubs. They might not be as talented as the best nations but everything else is there.

You can't compare the incomparable really. These Saudi players are used to basically a different world when it comes to football.

Asian football has been shit ever since the 2006-7. If Iran has the guts to play attacking football and don't park the bus i'm sure they won't be much of a charm eother.

Yeah they've got a lot of pace and they work hard and credit to the coach for at least trying to play decent football (even if these players are totally not up to it at all). But they're just full of basic and unforced errors. It's actually hard to believe this is a World Cup qualifying side.

Uruguay are going to humiliate them I think.

Iran definitely won't do anything other than park the bus. That's just about all they're equipped for, park the bus and hoping that one of the few players with real talent can grab them a win.

To be fair, Iran does have talent, but they believe in that defensive football philosophy. They are also well drilled, 2 things I cant say about this Saudi side.

I would give them some credit for how they played. They could have parked the bus and lost the game 1-0 or 2-0 and no one would have criticised them.

Yeah I have to give them credit for at least trying to play football. But it's not really pragmatic, I think the sides lacking in quality need to try to Fat Sam their way to the top.
