Subscriber CaaC (John)+ Posted July 15, 2023 Subscriber Posted July 15, 2023 A couple of 'Golden Oldies'. Guess Who's Coming to Dinner (1967) - Comedy/Drama - Spencer Tracy, Sidney Poitier, Katharine Hepburn - 9/10 Old movies can shite all over some movies nowadays, no boobies or bums flashing around and you can let your kids watch it with you. Spoiler A couple's attitudes are challenged when their daughter introduces them to her African-American fiancé. To Sir With Love (1967) - Drama - Sidney Poitier, Judy Geeson, Lulu - 9/10 Some sound tracks from the good old 60's too. Spoiler Idealistic engineer trainee and his experiences in teaching a group of rambunctious white high school students from the slums of London's East End. Quote

Subscriber Mel81x+ Posted July 22, 2023 Subscriber Posted July 22, 2023 Watched Oppenheimer today and liked it. I don't know if it was too long but there were parts of it I could care less for. RDJ is stellar in it as well as the movie starts to wind towards the end. 1 Quote

Did anyone else feel this was a very fast paced film, despite being 3hours? Felt the dialogue was back and forth, no breaks. Couldn't comprehend anything. Definitely need to watch this again with subtitles. 8.5/10 Trinity was bloody terrifying. When everything so far has been done on theory alone, I can only imagine the fear they all had. Not sure what the nudity was about/sex scenes were about. Out of character for Nolan and completely unnecessary. I understand the importance of showing his ties towards members of the communist party, but what the fuck I don't need to watch a porno while I'm sitting next to some random bloke eating a pizza. 1 Quote
MUFC Posted August 2, 2023 Posted August 2, 2023 Watched a B/C standard zombie movie called Daylight's end on Amazon Prime. When you start watching it you instantly know it's a low budget movie. Was better than I thought it'd be - 7.2/10. Quote
Harry Posted September 9, 2023 Posted September 9, 2023 Saw the Barbie movie. Didn't like it. Just felt a bit too indoctrinate-y. Quote

What do you mean exactly? I just watched it, and I thought it was mostly hilarious. Yea, I can see that they tried to bring a message across, but it wasn't really one-sided. It also had some good points about our society. Some scenes felt so on point when it comes to behaviour of "typical men", it was hilarious. Ryan Gosling as Ken was just amazing. My favourite line of the movie. “To be honest, once I found out horses have very little to do with the patriarchy, I kind of lost interest.” - Ken Quote
Subscriber Viva la FCB+ Posted September 11, 2023 Subscriber Posted September 11, 2023 I watched a bunch on the flight to and from Italy. Renfield - 7/10 Solid B movie. Over the top gore and ridiculous action and a pretty funny premise. Cage as Dracula was amazing. Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barells - 9/10 Been awhile since Ive seen it so I figured it due a rewatch with all my free time I had. Just as good as I remember, peak Guy Ritchie. Unforgiven - 9/10 Again been a long while but it still holds up as one of the best westerns. Its no TGTBATU (masterpiece fyi) but its definitely some of Clint's finest work still. The Banshee's of Inisherin - 8/10 Utterly bizarre but enjoyable. Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson are just so good yet again. The Guardians of The Galaxy 3? - 7/10 I just dont care about marvel or super hero movies anymore man. It was good and probably because I did still enjoy the others I figured Id watch it while trapped in a flying deathtrap with nothing better to do. John Wick 1 - 10/10 Absolute masterpiece which I can resite from memory. John Wick 4 - 10/10 Probably the second best in the series. The action is just keeps ramping up as the series goes as they get more creative. The visuals are stunning and the story..well its John Wick... academy award sleeping giant, I dont need to say anymore. Quote

Moderator Tommy Posted September 30, 2023 Moderator Posted September 30, 2023 Gran Turismo (2023) Positively surprised by this. Started off a bit corny and obviously made the Gran Turismo games look like the biggest thing ever, but apart from that, it was a very good racing movie. The acting and cinematography were also excellent! 7.8/10 An 8 might have been too much, but a 7.5 would feel a bit low. So yes. Quote
Devil Posted October 2, 2023 Posted October 2, 2023 (edited) The Creator 9/10 Not usually a sci fi fan but this movie kind of caught me by surprise. One of the best movies I've seen in a long time, absolutely gripped me from start to finish. Edited October 2, 2023 by Devil 1 Quote

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018) I'm not into these movies really but I won't tell him that and just watch it with him I asked Kaiden to give it a rating out of 10 and he said 10/10...I wonder why? Subscriber Viva la FCB+ Posted October 23, 2023 Subscriber Posted October 23, 2023 LOTR - The Fellowship of the Ring - 10/10 Still as good as I remember just been quite a few years since Ive seen them. My fiancee had only seen this one and in theater's back in the day so over the course of a few weeks we knocked out the trilogy. The Fellowship is basically perfection still in my mind. Everything about it is great. The Two Towers - 9/10 Still excellent from start to finish, doesnt lose much momentum at all. The Return of The King - 8/10 Finishes fairly strong overall but man does the end drag still imo. Going to start either the series or The Soprano's just not sure which yet in a few weeks Quote
Subscriber Viva la FCB+ Posted October 26, 2023 Subscriber Posted October 26, 2023 Games Night - 9/10 I had this on a list to watch for quite awhile. Star studded cast, I had heard good things and it had fairly good reviews as well. I was reminded on the plane I wanted to watch this one just ran out of time. I haven't laughed that hard in a movie in sometime. Its just ridiculous and hilarious from start to finish. Jason Bateman and Rachel McAdams have amazing chemistry and carry it pretty far. If you want something fairly brainless and want a good laugh check it out, absolutely worth it. 2 Quote
