One reason is we have 29.2 ICU per 100k inhabitants: In comparison Italy have 12.2, France 11.6, Spain 9.7 and the UK have 6.6. Germany are at the moment even capable to provide intensive care to patients from other countries, ie Italy and France.3 points

I did 'just got out the shower with towel' near the window for a while but the police knocked and told me I had to stop as there were quite a few females clustering together outside each morning in jogging gear...2 points

Oddly the most nurses I know would prefer receiving a reasonable salary over being applauded.1 point

It's true, public health is a shambles in all the Americas bar Argentina and perhaps Canada? (not completely sure about Brasil but i'd venture that is the case as all the rest).1 point

There's a lot of shite getting spouted about Johnson 'hiding'. I have no time for the bloke and yes he dodged scrutiny at all turns during the election campaign but he's got the virus ffs. He should be self isolating, it isn't hiding.1 point

I had this too, though much milder. Through the day fine, but at night I was coughing and my throat was bad. Didn’t have a fever either. I’ve had 16 days off work, and I’m absolutely fully recovered now. Sucks to hear though man, you try and take as much care as you can. Bit of fresh air may help, I found it did with me. Had a window in my bedroom open through night. Wish you a speedy recovery man.1 point

Short term plan: stay quarantined for a period of time to prevent the spread of the disease Long term plan: - a vaccine could take a year (or more). I think with how infectious this is and with it's not insignificant mortality rate for people of certain ages... I think a vaccine is obviously a priority for the people who make vaccines for diseases. If there are other coronaviruses out there in animals we haven't caught yet, I wouldn't be surprised if we start seeing "coronavirus vaccines" like we've got with "flu vaccines."1 point

I think the early research is showing that recovering from it once makes you unlikely to contract it again but there have been a few cases of people getting it twice. Some have said that life can't truly go back to normal until a vaccine is developed.1 point

Sir Patrick Vallance would love that. He's probably modelling how soon it would all be over if he knock's on everyone's door under the age of 60 and breaths on them Seriously though it's too early to say but anything less than test and trace is a recipe to getting screwed.1 point

Am a Muslim myself but these guys have taken the biscuit. They need a twatting and think they're above and beyond the law. These groups love to argue and are hard to reason with.1 point

It's a shame you couldnt reply like that off the bat instead of the shithouse insults. I brought up valid points, you called me a window licker and dense. Classy Can't be arsed continuing with this discussion, because there clearly isnt one. If people arent willing to sacrifice a little outdoor exercise for up to one month to see what effect it has then I have nothing to say to them. People are not seeing their families and friends through all these lockdowns, if they can manage that then Bob who goes running can do without it for a little bit.1 point

@Devil-Dick Willie was also open to the idea of sacrificing the elderly to save the economy. And has also admitted that he has continued to use his local (small, not that it makes a pick of difference) gym along with a few others. So yeah, clearly not followed the rules himself so far, and gets abusive real quick to sombody who is concerned about the few idiots that are putting everybody at risk. But yeah, @IgnisExcubitor is the person in the wrong here The fact of the matter is that everybody isn't following the fucking rules, and whether you say its "only a few" doesnt make a difference. The few who are ignoring the rules and guidelines are gonna mke it harder for us to get through. The pandemic will last longer, and the health services are at more risk of collapsing under pressure. So you can take your walk, run or biking and shove it. If you cant exercise at home for 2, maybe 4 weeks, to try and defeat this shit then you are selfish.1 point

Nah, they were very understanding, though could have been different if they heard the sound of 'baa' from the boot.1 point

Yes, because a few idiots are good enough to screw us all. People should ONLY be allowed out to get groceries, medicines or for an emergency. Not for walks or exercise.1 point

Can't deny the impact this is having on people must be huge especially those that are losing pay/jobs over it, One of my blokes came to me yesterday asking if it was possible if he could send a text on behalf of some of the people he was living with that were working at McDonalds and are now out of work and out of pocket to their landlord asking that the rent be scrapped.. You are right, it's a lot easier to not feel the full weight of this while you are still capable of bringing a wage to the table and covering your bills, I can't possibly imagine how much stress this must be causing people that have literally nothing or the bare bones coming in.. It's ok with the Government holding off paying bills for 3 months etc but what about food?? How the hell are people supposed to be getting food on the table for them and their families?? I am so grateful I can keep working and keep on top of them bills and have money to get stuff in.. Even if they have a hold on the bills and evictions for people for the next 3 months all that money will be owed and have to be paid back at some point... This virus has really fucked everybody and everything and changed the way we work, earn, think and live for the foreseeable future... All those things we were so used to having in our daily lives that kept us all sane and gave us something to look forward to are gone for the best part of this year at the very least...1 point

For anyone interested, Square Enix are offering the 2013 Tomb Raider reboot and the standalone game Temple of Osiris for free if downloaded by Tuesday 24th March as part of a 'Stay Home and Play' campaign. https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2020-03-21-tomb-raider-2013-free-to-keep-as-part-of-stay-home-and-play-campaign Also worth checking the link as the end of the article mentions that others are doing similar as well, so worth a general look.1 point

Hospital invited us up today to see me granddad as he’s expected to die soon, told we’d get protective equipment to see him for 25 mins each. We get there and there’s been a fuck up with their processes which mean two things happened, most of us not allowed to go in because of health conditions. As we entered the hospital we now have to self isolate for 7 days, obviously self isolating anyway but no walks to the shop at all for a week. No signage or information beforehand from the nurse to tell us any of this, just invited us to come in at 2pm. Can’t be angry at them because they’re learning as they go and are probably off their feet, just frustrating. Secondly granddad will most likely die today or soon by himself with no real contact from family around him, funeral will either be non existent or only for his children and a very mild affair. We had an entire social club booked out for my nan/his wife when she passed years ago, strange times. Once this is all done and were all back out on the streets and in the pubs, if one person mentions the words herd immunity and doesn’t precede or follow it with criticism I will take great pleasure in chinning them0 points

I definitely have it. Throughout the day it's not too bad (i've been spending all day in bed playing Football Manager), but at night when I start to get tired it gets bad. Last night I struggled to brush my teeth and breathe at the same time, had chest pains too. It's difficult to find a position to sleep in where I can breathe properly. I'd describe what I feel in my lungs as discomfort rather than pain, but I feel it a lot, throughout the day. I haven't had fever and don't have a cough. So guys, don't tell yourselves "I don't have a fever/cough so I don't have it". If you have any symptom, no matter how small, you need to self-isolate.0 points

It has found its way in two of the city's biggest slums. Especially, Dharavi which is Asia's second biggest slum. The patient from Dharavi owned a garment shop and has just died. Watch this spread like fire now.0 points
