The "mass" in Cosmo's throat they were feeling was his fucking Adams Apple. And they wanted to either radiate him or remove his thyroid based on that, him having a big Adam's Apple - even though the cytology & bloodwork indicated that the "mass" wasn't a cancer - or a benign lump. I'd also like to add, Cosmo's a fairly big cat. So a bigger than normal cat would most likely have a bigger than normal Adams Apple compared to other cats, I'd imagine. I felt the "lump" as well. It did seem quite big. So obviously I was concerned. Thank fuck my wife & I were thinking "hmmm.... better get another fucking opinion before we put our cat through this shit." This time we go to a vet who's said, "I'm not sure if it's a lump or not, but based off the testing the other doctors have done and other doctors feeling something in his throat - but if it were you or me or our spouses/kids, we'd do a CT scan to figure out exactly what it is." And at this point, I'm thinking he might have cancer - but I'm not going to give him treatment for it without figuring out exactly what it is. So yeah... get Cosmo his CT scan. And tbh, I'm pretty livid with the other vets he's seen it's been a bit of an ordeal thinking that there's something seriously wrong with my cat for... a few weeks now. And they did so many tests that were inconclusive. And he's a cat... so he hates fucking vet visits. So I feel like I've put him through a lot of shit (that also... wasn't very cheap) when a vet should have been telling us to get a CT scan... prior to telling me that he's got cancer and he's going to need serious serious treatment. I just don't understand how people could make that diagnosis without all of the information available. I also don't understand why I did testing to figure out "what the lump was" when it turns out the lump was just him being a big cat and having an Adams Apple... and he was groaning just because he's older now and he's got arthritis and some cats do that. But regardless at how annoyed I am at some of Cosmo's past vets... I cannot really put into words how relieved I am that he doesn't have cancer. But I feel like vets should know how important pets can be to their owners and maybe exercise a bit more caution before suggesting serious treatments for issues the pets don't even have.3 points

Yeah I think it's the most sensible thing that Bayern could have done and unfortunately, they went with it. Couldn't you have given Klinsmann a chance?2 points

We had to have Mooms in for an op earlier this year because they found a lump and the missus was in bits thinking the worst... cost us a £1,000 to have the tests and the op for her but it was not cancer related thank fuck, she is as healthy and as playful as she has always been despite being down in the dumps with that cone on for 2 weeks... I get what you are saying about the money, got to give them every chance to get through it... been part of the family for so long it just wouldn't be the same without her2 points

From Pakistani media. Apparently Chinese sent them a shipment of N95 masks, which turned out to be masks made from undergarments instead.1 point

Agreed, Once upon a time vets used to be all about the animals welfare first but these days it's about the cost it seems which is a shame, that and the fact no matter how small the test or operation the price is always really high... Our vet is also checking to see if we have been to another vet before carrying out any checks etc.. it's almost as though you might get punished for daring to go somewhere else for a second opinion... The last time I had to have my German Shepherd put down they were trying to flog me a little mini coffin for pets that cost £150.. get fucked!! I feel sorry for a lot of elderly people that probably get sucked in by such things and end up spending a bloody fortune for their pet...1 point

Unfortunately, I don't think it will. People have already proven how much of a thick fucking cunt they are as is.1 point

Haha, so because of the US's shortsightedness, it seems they've taken masks from the UK, Germany, France, and Canada. There's a saying that starts with "with friends like these" that I feel like most US allies might agree with soon.1 point

Yeah, the general consensus so far is that it's not as good as the Resi 2 remake and the Resistence add on is a bit meh. At the same time, Resi 3 wasn't considered as good as Resi 2 back in the day anyway and I liked Resi 3 regardless.1 point

That is a Spanish film, sub-titled. I am not to keen on sub-titled films but it looks weird, I guess you were mainly looking for feet scenes.1 point

That sucks mate. I'm similarly heartbroken for many here in affected industries. Those I'm most closest to are in hospitality, particularly my local family run coffee shop. Although they're likely to receive some government support they've seen their family business and livelihood upended and enormous uncertainty to their future income and way of life. And for me I'm torn between wanting to continue to support them financially by buying as much take away there as possible, and also recognising that my daily contact with them is currently my families biggest exposure risk, which is ultimately non essential so I'd ideally like to eliminate. I'd rather just wire them my usual weekly spend and buy nothing tbh, but that probably feels like charity which they'd be too proud to accept.1 point

Played Rocket League again today for the first time in 18 months. Started a ranked (I was relatively high ranked before I stopped) match even though I was rusty as shit and got flamed so hard. That community is toxic as shit, haha.1 point

So I used to hate pets and was never really interested in owning any. A lot of it was also down to me being germophobic. Until, this little bundle of joy around my office kept approaching me during lunch hour. So our friendship started with me tossing few bits of food towards her, in a hope that she keeps away from me. But I guess with each passing day I began to enjoy her company. In fact on certain days when she wouldn't show up, I would be disappointed. She has indeed had an effect on me, considering I now spend a lot of time on YouTube watching cat videos (and sometimes dog videos as well). So here's presenting Maau, my office pet. We still haven't got to the stage of me holding her in my hands, but we will get there eventually.1 point

Hospital invited us up today to see me granddad as he’s expected to die soon, told we’d get protective equipment to see him for 25 mins each. We get there and there’s been a fuck up with their processes which mean two things happened, most of us not allowed to go in because of health conditions. As we entered the hospital we now have to self isolate for 7 days, obviously self isolating anyway but no walks to the shop at all for a week. No signage or information beforehand from the nurse to tell us any of this, just invited us to come in at 2pm. Can’t be angry at them because they’re learning as they go and are probably off their feet, just frustrating. Secondly granddad will most likely die today or soon by himself with no real contact from family around him, funeral will either be non existent or only for his children and a very mild affair. We had an entire social club booked out for my nan/his wife when she passed years ago, strange times. Once this is all done and were all back out on the streets and in the pubs, if one person mentions the words herd immunity and doesn’t precede or follow it with criticism I will take great pleasure in chinning them0 points
