ScoRoss Posted December 10, 2019 Posted December 10, 2019 Strong links with Gattuso looking likely to take over in the next few days. Frees up Ancelotti for a potential move back to London...
Administrator Stan Posted December 10, 2019 Administrator Posted December 10, 2019 Doesn't surprise me given their form. They've been terrible.
Dr. Gonzo Posted December 10, 2019 Posted December 10, 2019 Yeah loads of rumours that regardless of whatever happens tonight with Napoli in the CL, he's on his way out.
Administrator Stan Posted December 10, 2019 Administrator Posted December 10, 2019 Taken Napoli in to knockouts of Champions League but league form is drastically suffering.
Moderator Tommy Posted December 10, 2019 Moderator Posted December 10, 2019 Still looks a bit strange after you've just won a Champions League Game 4-0.
Subscriber Dan+ Posted December 10, 2019 Subscriber Posted December 10, 2019 Looks pretty clear to me they were just waiting for the CL groups to conclude before pulling the trigger.
Dr. Gonzo Posted December 10, 2019 Posted December 10, 2019 The man's a legend for what he's done in the past... but I think it's time for him to call it a day. At Bayern and now at Napoli, he's just looked like he can't cope with the changes in modern football anymore.

Napoli have greatly underachieved this season, they are at least a top 3 team in the league, along with Juve and Inter Milan. To be 7 points and 8 points behind teams like Atalanta and Cagliari, is just unacceptable for a team with the players that Napoli have. Nonetheless, the timing of his sacking after having beaten Genk 4-0 is a little strange. But I suppose the board had planned the date of his sacking before this match. At least Ancelotti can say in the future that his last game as manager of Napoli was a 4-0 win over Genk, lol.
Panna King Posted December 11, 2019 Posted December 11, 2019 He be Arsenal manager at the end of the week
True Blue Posted December 11, 2019 Posted December 11, 2019 Felt he would do a great job at Napoli, one of our best managers in the recent years loved him.
Subscriber Pyfish+ Posted December 11, 2019 Subscriber Posted December 11, 2019 Arsenal or Everton it is...
DeadLinesman Posted December 11, 2019 Posted December 11, 2019 Hilarious if he ended up at Everton over Arsenal

Subscriber Mel81x+ Posted December 11, 2019 Subscriber Posted December 11, 2019 I think its absurd that they sacked him after their performance last night and the fact that they are now in the elimination stages of the CL. Then they go and do this? Are they purposely trying to sabotage the one competition they are good in?

While I understand that and the fact that they are below teams that they should be trouncing they could have asked someone else to do the job and I hope this is a temporary appointment. They have the team to do the job they just need the right person and are we saying that Gattuso is going to suddenly galvanize their league form?

I think what happened to Milan after Gattuso may indicate that Gattuso is a better manager than his reputation has him out to be. I think he's on a pretty short term contract too - I think Napoli just wanted someone willing to take the job ASAP. No fucking around with a caretaker (because they, and most Italian clubs generally tend to approach things really short term).

I hope they are right because any more slips and it gets really ugly for him and more importantly, the club.

Ancelotti was sacked by Napoli last week but remains under contract until June 2021. He will hold talks with the Serie A club and decide the best course of action to sever his ties and succeed Marco Silva at Everton.
IgnisExcubitor Posted December 17, 2019 Posted December 17, 2019 In terms of raising Everton's profile, this is huge. It will also give them huge lift. This might work, though. He is great at working with a good squad, and when you look at Everton's there is more than enough quality.
