Coronavirus (COVID-19) Outbreak

About 800 were care home deaths from previous days. Which puts actual deaths on the day around 500, same as previous two days.

Italy have has 500+ deaths a day for nearly 2 weeks now and still going. UK now has 500+ 2 days in a row.

The problem with looking at US stats is it is so vast it isn't really comparable to a European country. If you look at the state level New York is about as bad as the UK. Other states are catching up but you're going to have peaks spread out over the next 6-8 weeks there probably. The most eager country to get back to normal life could easily be the last one that can do so.

Our government are circulating this data to suggest we are in a pretty good place compared to many of our contemporaries and seem to be achieving levels of test and trace more aligned with South Korea's.

It will all come out in time exactly how much China have fucked us. It sounds like there isn't necessarily an organised cover up but more that the people who could have warned us were scared of doing so because they would lose their jobs rather than be listened to if they spoke out. There was also that doctor who tried to get the work out weeks before it was taken seriously but was essentially told to shut up and he eventually died from the virus in December.

I think we're approaching the point where we're going to lose count of case numbers and fatalities... There's always been the unconfirmed cases due to lack of testing, but I think as more second and third world countries start to see community spread the data is going to be impossible for these countries to gather, and like Iran we'll have no idea how many actual cases there were but not because they withheld it just that they won't even really know themselves.

US has arrested some Harvard Chemistry professor ? for allegedly helping the Chinese setting up a bio lab

They should arrest whatever US official was also responsible for selling off masks and ventilators from the US National Stockpile to China.

No worries, the US just stole 600000 masks on the way from Bangkok to Berlin and diverted them to the USA instead.

Anyone go out for the 8pm clap for the NHS?

I found it weirdly emotional. People cheering, clapping, banging pots and pans. Someone even let off fireworks.

Again? Didn’t we already have one?

684 more deaths in the UK. The Queen is set to do some sort of address soon. Saw Prince Charles open up the Nightingale Hospital at the Excel Centre earlier via video link and that was strange.

I think PL players are getting a bit of a rough deal - Hancock almost being forced to single them out by the Times reporter was uncalled for. If anything, it's the billionaire owners who should be held culpable, not just players. The players didn't enforce the 80% wage/furloughing being imposed on non-playing staff.

What about other billionaires owners of other companies, retailers asking for help from taxpayers (Branson, Green etc) - why were they not picked on?

There's several players already giving lots of donations/commitments to charities or NHS services, and just because it's not a public announcement doesn't mean it's not being done. Some players like to do things a bit quieter or may not want the publicity.

How?!?!

I don't know the exact logistics of it, but basically it was an order placed and paid for by the Berlin police, the masks were coming from China and should had been placed on a German bound cargo plane in Bangkok. Instead it was "seized" and diverted to the US instead. Probably bribed some Thai authorities to get it done, they are quite close with the Americans. Berlin police as well as German politicians including the minister of health alrady confrmed that, but apparently the amount of masks was mis-reported. It should be 200000 instead of 600000. France accussed the US of doing the same to their order too.

Haha, so because of the US's shortsightedness, it seems they've taken masks from the UK, Germany, France, and Canada.

There's a saying that starts with "with friends like these" that I feel like most US allies might agree with soon.

Should be a test on Sunday in the UK. Is going to be warm and people are taking about BBQ's and drinking and other social gatherings.

I really hope common sense does prevail.

Unfortunately, I don't think it will. People have already proven how much of a thick fucking cunt they are as is.
