This is going to leave a mark on the world even after it finishes, things are going to be different for years after it goes

100%. It's quite eye-opening.

@nudge what do you know about the Hong Kong protests?

The cases there seem fairly low and I'm worried the virus could come into play in Chile if things kick off again like rumoured. Currently 17 cases.

As in are they still ongoing? I believe so, although on a much smaller scale. I'm not following it closely though so can't be much of a help.

So my state is home to the famous CDC and Walking Dead series...I guess our state government decided to set up a base in the woods to quarantine people.

Oh if the CDC says anything that conflicts with what your state’s officials are telling you, who’s advice do we go with?

Our company has today started taking steps in case everyone has to work from home

What is it you do mate, if you don't mind me asking?

Most experts seem to think we'll be following Italy's example in a couple of weeks. If there's a mass closure of schools for long enough in the UK then exams will start being affected from my point of view at work.

Health care, economy, public perception top of my head

I think it’ll be similar to the Spanish Flu. Which I think means that we’ll see the disease start to fade for a few months before we see it come back with an extra deadly wave.

We’re already seeing how fragile the global economy is with the virus’s spread.

Just a heads up.

There's not much problem with something going off topic for a bit though. Regular occurrence on here!

I was searching for that thread for a while though so it's something.

We got an email from work saying if we're due to travel abroad anywhere etc as a precaution so they can make contingency plans if we're off for 2 weeks.

Bosnia and Herzegovina banned entrance to the country from countries that have been heavily hit by the virus. Our own people coming to Bosnia must be isolated 14 days when they arrive to the country.

Toilet roll sales may never recover.

I think it’s a bit funny that whenever people think of society crumbling the first thought is “how will I wipe my arse?!”

The way some people are refusing to even eat noodles and their attitude towards Chinese people I'm afraid this might also leave an effect.
