Thanks mate, I'm actually feeling a lot better compared to how I felt a few hours ago. Honestly, it just feels like a mild cold - if I had to compare it to anything. I think I'll be fine long-term.3 points

Oh hello and thanks for the concern. Life’s been hectic. Really hectic. Babies + work + operation etc etc. I thought I’d pop back in here though and be an early Xmas present for at least @Bluewolf and @CaaC (John).2 points

This is only true if you view COVID entirely through the eyes of the UK. I would say, rather than prioritising boosters for healthy young people here, we should be getting them out to large parts of the world with poor access to them and to people at far greater risk of being very ill. This prioritising of ourselves is party of the problem.1 point

Vaccination clearly helps, and I’d recommend it to anyone. However, there’s become a hysteria that somehow unvaccinated people are a great danger, not only to themselves but everyone else. It’s a ludicrous state of affairs, especially given how large parts of the world remain unvaccinated through no fault of their own.1 point

They shouldn't, but our lot apparently follow the science and 'have a plan, unlike England' (the customary jab to wank themselves off to). When Drakeford was asked why individuals would be penalised for going to work at a time where money is tight, he completely dodged the question Boris style by saying that it was in place earlier in the pandemic (it wasn't) and mentioned about how employers would be fined if workplaces weren't safe and that it wasn't about penalising individuals (despite.....making.....the......fine.....legal?). Starting to question this as well now. Like most, I've had three jabs in the space of 8 months and yet we're being told that this isn't enough. Do we have another booster in 3 months and will continue to do so (only have to see the fear and panic induced by the UK Governments over Omicron to see that)? If we don't continue to have booster after booster after booster, are we immediately red flagged and people make it as difficult as possible? A lot of questions for the future. Any pics?1 point

Several sources reporting that in fact, yes, Omicron is as inherently mild as we first thought. You wouldn’t know it in the UK though. The fear machine is in full overdrive.1 point

always found the way Kholi winds up aussies very ironic. He's literally the most Aussie non aussie playing cricket today. Sleeve tats, arrogant cunt, win at all costs attitude. But he winds up Aussies who don't even for a second recognize hes the very thing they cheer for. Like a more talented, less cunty, less cheaty warner.1 point

This resonates with the current COVID situation. Written by Alt-J in the midst of the pandemic and the effect of losing a loved one...1 point

It is odd he didn't get punishment. I agree with what your assistant said this morning though - players make mistakes and get punished, managers make mistakes and get punished. Referees do it and almost escape punishment and are back reffing barely a few days later in some cases. The lack of culpability after a series of errors across the officials is what angers me the most. I can accept that people will make mistakes, but to not learn from them is where the issue lies. And that goes beyond Tierney or any other individual on the pitch - it's a heated environment which requires split-second decisions (VAR should rectify that but misuse of it needs to be worked on). It's the lack of guidance from above them i.e. Mike Riley at PGMOL. He's not fit to lead that team and there needs to be a change in how officiating is done in this league/country. While I agree Tierney made mistakes at the weekend, he's not the only one and there is a bigger picture here. He'll take the flak while his seniors hide away.1 point

and even when i wasnt watching much i thought about lyon ‘this is the best we have?’ but hey guess he proved me wrong, he has 400 test wickets and i have 400 wanks a year ask me again if australia lose a test1 point

he isn’t the greatest player of all time and that makes him mediocre? yeah he isn’t warne or muralithran but he is a work horse that can work thirty overs and leave the pace attack fresh, look at england working ben stokew into dust because they don’t have anyone that do a marathon. he dropped 400 wickets like he dropped his wife and kids for an instathot, ice cold. don’t really know what you want or what kind of standards you have but i have been happy with megamind’s career and performances for australia. the players seem to like him and he has meme status in the team, played over 100 tests, couple of ten wicket hauls and ever more fifers, yeah he doesn’t WOW but he is pretty reliable and having that reliable player for 100 tests is pretty great. fuck mate look at this england side they are relying on a fifty year old pace bowler, longevity is underrated seems like you expect excellence at a ridiculous degree which is fine I guess, you were bagging on warner a lot and despite his faults has been a magnificent player for australia for a long time1 point

I'd already lost much faith in the political system of the UK. And subsequently with Brexit and COVID... I'm feeling like my plans to move back home anytime in the next few years are pretty much dead. I don't really have regrets in moving away from home anymore. Granted, I've moved to the US and my already shaky faith in the US political system has been similarly been eroded to how I felt about the UK. Maybe I'll try Canada or Germany next.1 point

Late Saturday night my partners waters broke. She blames me creating a party atmosphere after Odsonne Edouard's debut. Anyway the waters broke but my partner never went in to labour. They gave her Oxytocin Monday afternoon which led to abnormally painful contractions. She was in the very small number of people that Epidurals have zero effect on. After 13 hours of being witness to what I can only describe as a live exorcism she had just dilated 3 centimetres as the baby wouldn't put his head in the engaged position and he was now very distressed. The doctors called for an emergency C-Section and thankfully that's where our luck changed. The spinal worked on my partner and Noah entered the world at 0718 weighing 6.7lbs. Him and mother have been doing very well and they're hopeful they'll be released tomorrow.1 point
