Paris Saint-Germain Football Club, commonly known as Paris Saint-Germain and familiarly as PSG or Paris SG, is a French sports club founded in 1970, and based in the city of Paris in France. The club is most notable for its professional football team, which plays in the highest tier of French football, Ligue 1.

Paris SG is also the only club to have never been relegated from Ligue 1, one of only two French clubs to have won a major European title and the most popular football club in France. Moreover, the Red-and-Blues have a long-standing rivalry with Olympique de Marseille. The duo contest French football's most notorious match, known as Le Classique.

Plastic club full of plastic mong fans who's egos have hit stratospheric levels of spaz since QSI invested in them. Germans grumble about Red Bull, PSG are considerably worse than Red Bull. But PSG is the result of the Premier League greed machine. They were cheaper (and much easier) to acquire than a Premier League club. But here we are with PSG, who on one hand have provided teams greater impetus to push on but eventually Ligue 1 will be as flat as the Scottish Premier. The best French players aren't going to sign for PSG because PSG aren't interested in them. It's marquee foreign names now all the way. It's unsustainable unless PSG breakout of the French footballing setup. There's just not enough money elsewhere in France to compete long term with this.

Monaco seem to have a good setup and systems in place to compete with them. If they keep hold of Mbappe for one more season and the likes of Tielemans etc work out.. do you think they can retain their title?

If PSG are beaten to the title two years running with the resources available to them, it's got to be one of the most embarrassing failures in football and one could argue they should go full @Cannabis and shut down the club.

Monaco have definitely been taken down a level with the departures, whereas PSG have added one of the best players in the world. I think things will be back to normal this season. PSG will clinch the title with a few games to spare.

PSG have bid 162 million for Mbappe.

Now, that´s interesting. Not only because Mbappe is a huge talent, but because PSG would found themselves in a position where they´d have to sell not to get into trouble with the FFP. There could be some bargains in that squad. Matuidi, Draxler, Di María could all be forced to move and since they´ll need to sell, I can see some teams trying to lowball PSG there. It´ll be interesting. Kimpembe, Aurier. Matuidi and Draxler would be some names big teams should be all over.

A little brown kid was at work over the weekend with his father and brother. The kid was wearing a Barcelona shirt and I asked him if they were his favourite team, he replied: 'No, I like Paris Saint-Germaine'. Neymar already paying dividends.  Heh, the kid seemed to know his stuff, I told him my idol was Frank Lampard and he knows who he is.

You know you are tin pot club when you dont have a separate thread for yourself on TF365 until you spent a 200mill on a player.

A club called Red Star FC mate, formed in 1897 (120 years ago). They currently play in the third tier after being relegated from Ligue 2 last year.

There's also Paris FC who were formed in 1969, a year before PSG.

It would have been very odd if an iconic city like Paris didn't had a hundered year old football club

close to 500 million for Neymar this season and a potential 300 million for Mbappe for next season, coz as they say mbappe will cost them 180, but that still don't include the add ons.   remember, Neymar was initially stated at 222 but it came to close to 500 million when everything was computed.    So, that's nearly a billion in 2 seasons.   If UEFA won't punish PSG, then UEFA will lost all it's credibility ...

no. an add-on is an add-on for a reason. It's not money they've actually spent.

Neymar's deal is £222m.

Neymar's deal isn't just €222m for PSG. It is for Barcelona because that's what they've received. But PSG have had to pay tax in France and Spain for that. Plus FFP take into account wages and contracts... Neymar's deal comes to almost €500m. This deal was analysed by one of the most important sports lawyers in Europe when it was only being speculated on which is why Barça came out with the statements about it wouldn't happen.
