Cicero Posted August 11, 2019 Posted August 11, 2019 Looking like Sarri this. Lively off the bat then one individual error kills all of our momentum.

Some good signs so far though. Good in transition, just lacking a real goal threat. High press has been good too. Not sure where the goals are coming from though to keep Chelsea within the top 6?
Rick Posted August 11, 2019 Posted August 11, 2019 Very confident that we will smash this defence on wednesday night.
Subscriber RandoEFC+ Posted August 11, 2019 Subscriber Posted August 11, 2019 Zouma is having a shocker here, but it is amusing seeing him judged on 30 minutes of action after having a very solid full season with us last season. Some players just work better in different surroundings, he doesn't look at home in this team today. Maybe he'll come good. As the match wears on, Chelsea look a bit anxious in general which is to be expected, but a few sloppy touches throughout the side.

Not sure where the goals are coming from though to keep Chelsea within the top 6? I think the goals will come from the entire team. We created loads of chances in preseason and just this first half we hit the post twice and had multiple attempts on goal. Bit unfortunate with the penalty but I love the energy from us. Our pressing and quick transition was a joy to watch, just need to put one of these chances away. Barkley and Pedro losing the ball far too many times.
Bluewolf Posted August 11, 2019 Posted August 11, 2019 Hit the woodwork twice I understand... won't be broken hearted if we don't get the win but a draw might be reasonable to achieve...
carefreeluke Posted August 11, 2019 Posted August 11, 2019 Our pressing and positioning has been poor, same in pre-season. Sarri sorted that out, let’s hope Frank does as well.
Redcanuck Posted August 11, 2019 Posted August 11, 2019 3-0 totally against the run of play. Very happy about the scoreline but almost have to apologize to my Chelsea mate.
Machado Posted August 11, 2019 Posted August 11, 2019 Was the most likely result if you looked at the line ups and how much time these sides have been playing together. Chelsea wasting some massive chances in the first half cost them.
SirBalon Posted August 11, 2019 Posted August 11, 2019 That’s called a total mess. Wow! A long time since I’ve seen a top end game as disorganised as Chelsea are here. Nothing to do with the score, it could be 1-0 and I’d see it like that. Lampard should think hard quickly or this could turn pear shaped in a way never seen before.
Dr. Gonzo Posted August 11, 2019 Posted August 11, 2019 Imo this is the best performance of Ole’s time as manager imo, even after that shit hot start to his time there
Administrator Batard Posted August 11, 2019 Administrator Posted August 11, 2019 Pedro has been so ineffective. So wastful with nearly every pass and shot
Burning Gold Posted August 11, 2019 Posted August 11, 2019 Not sure why Lampard was trying to use him as a target man with Giroud on the bench, but Abraham was shit today
The Artful Dodger Posted August 11, 2019 Posted August 11, 2019 Just now, Dr. Gonzo said: Imo this is the best performance of Ole’s time as manager imo, even after that shit hot start to his time there Really? I think a decent side would take them apart.
Administrator Batard Posted August 11, 2019 Administrator Posted August 11, 2019 Regretting changing my 4-0 prediction now
Bluewolf Posted August 11, 2019 Posted August 11, 2019 Oh well.... defensive problems we knew about in pre season, it's how well they will come back after today's game, don't fancy our chances against Pool in midweek on this showing... a lot of work to do still
carefreeluke Posted August 11, 2019 Posted August 11, 2019 We’re missing four key players as well. Tactically though in terms of positioning, pressing and decision making we’ve got a lot of work to do. Reminds me a bit of one Wenger’s sides post 2006.
Subscriber RandoEFC+ Posted August 11, 2019 Subscriber Posted August 11, 2019 A big mess from Chelsea here. Zouma, Christensen, Azpilicueta could have done better on the goals. Also nothing to offer going forward. Need Barkley to step up in terms of supporting the attack as Jorginho and Kante aren't renowned for their attacking play and I don't really know what Kovacic does. Pedro poor today. On United's side, some very clinical play, solid defensively, wouldn't call it anything special but it hasn't had to be.

I can remember 4-5 good chances for Chelsea, including hitting the post and crossbar. I reckon a team with better attackers would have dismantled Utd in that first half.
