Don't want to waste my Cardiff banker just yet mate - we know they will lose every week so i'll keep it for more desperate times

Cheeky cunt 😂.

I hope Bamba breaks both of Kane's legs.

Okay.

Anyone else who wants in best do so soon and don't forget to change your pick on time if you have changed your mind.

@Cannabis you're the only one I've got as an entrant who hasn't made a pick, don't forget!

Otherwise we are looking competitive with 33 people signed up.

This is a final reminder to anyone who may have forgotten. If you want to enter you must pick a team before their game kicks off and if you want to swap your pick you must do so before kick off of your existing pick and your new pick.

Some updated odds now that the transfer window has slammed shut:

Manchester United (1.50) vs Leicester (8.00)

Newcastle (3.75) vs Tottenham (2.10)

Bournemouth (1.90) vs Cardiff (4.50)

Fulham (2.50) vs Crystal Palace (3.00)

Huddersfield (6.50) vs Chelsea (1.61)

Watford (2.37) vs Brighton (3.40)

Wolves (2.37) vs Everton (3.40)

Liverpool (1.25) vs West Ham (14.00)

Southampton (1.83) vs Burnley (5.00)

Arsenal (4.00) vs Manchester City (1.95)

Bournemouth are the most popular pick so far with 9 backers.

Good luck!

First week is so hard to call, I think half of us will fall at the first hurdle...I'm gonna play it relatively safe and go with Chelsea, but I'm not at all confident. xD

Update - Gameweek 1, Part 1

Right, let's just get this out there from the start. My intention for the long run is to do a single update per set of fixtures, so don't go expecting GIFs galore along with well-formatted and vaguely amusing but not really that funny commentary every day that there's a single Premier League fixture. This is a special set of circumstances where Rando's had a couple of Merlots and is GIFually frustrated having waited 27 days since the conclusion to the World Cup Last Man Standing competition, so here we go...

Yeah, sorry about that guys. I'm disappointed too, but shockingly, none of our 37 entrants believed enough in the Mourinho Meltdown Theory to back Leicester in tonight's Premier League curtain raiser. However, with people backing opposite teams tomorrow, something that only happened on a couple of occasions during the World Cup, you needn't wait more than another day to see blood spilt in the Last Man Standing league.

Survivors (2)

Months without Premier League football, an England team actually doing well at the World Cup, the excitement of the sun rising on a new Premier League season and the drama of deadline day just last night sending shivers of excitement down our respective spinal cords. Surely any fan of an English club would be optimistic of their team's chances on the opening day of the season? Right? Wrong. Not down at Leicester anyway. With all of the pessimism of your seasoned and jaded English football fan, resident Foxes @Dan and @Stan refused to get caught up in the hysteria of the new campaign, and were the only two competitors to back Manchester United against their own team Leicester in the opening week, meaning they are the first to successfully negotiate the first gameweek of this Last Man Standing competition. Congratulations guys, hope you didn't feel too bad about supporting the opposition in Leicester's first competitive game since May. If you so desire, you can now make your pick for Gameweek 2 whenever you're ready.

Bring on tomorrow!
