So I used to hate pets and was never really interested in owning any. A lot of it was also down to me being germophobic. Until, this little bundle of joy around my office kept approaching me during lunch hour. So our friendship started with me tossing few bits of food towards her, in a hope that she keeps away from me. But I guess with each passing day I began to enjoy her company. In fact on certain days when she wouldn't show up, I would be disappointed. She has indeed had an effect on me, considering I now spend a lot of time on YouTube watching cat videos (and sometimes dog videos as well). So here's presenting Maau, my office pet. We still haven't got to the stage of me holding her in my hands, but we will get there eventually.3 points

Scandal in the US as 4 republican senators had been given warnings about how bad this would get in January so they sold stocks before market volatility, while investing in teleconference and working from home companies. They should be thrown in prison.3 points

It's caused some debate across social media about the use of the death penalty as deterrent in this case. The reason being is that no one knows for sure if it will stop these kinds of acts happening and the other issue being debated is why it took so long for the courts to come to a conclusion on the matter as well. I'd say the family got what they wanted in the end but I don't know if it really does anything to stop the act of rape itself. We're not going to see these things of acts stopped permanently, at least not in my lifetime.3 points

To be fair the guy who owns Wetherspoons is a Conservative party donor who printed off Vote Leave beermats to be placed in every Wetherspoons in the country so we're pretty high up on the gammon-meter when we're talking about him.2 points

Kimmich and Goretzka have started an initiative "We Kick Corona" to support medical, social and charitable organisations in the current crisis and already donated a million Euro themselves https://www.t-online.de/sport/id_87560194/-we-kick-corona-goretzka-und-kimmich-starten-initiative-und-spenden-eine-million-euro.html2 points

I did like the karaoke a lot, even if it is just button pressing (just the presentation does it really). Not sure if you tried every mini game going (there are a lot) as the variation was ridiculous. Apparently in Yakuza 6, you can play Virtua Fighter 5........as in the entire game.1 point

That's fine, and no where in my post did I say anything about USA doing the right things quickly enough, stop reading things that aren't there. All I'm saying is that countries that are have more tourists and air traffic are more likely not to have made the right decisions as those countries that are more controlled and have time to gather more information before making any drastic decisions. You applaud countries like Peru and El Salvalador, and do you know what they have in common? They don't attract as many visitors are the EU and the States. So yeah, El Salvador shutting down their borders and building hospitals is great, but this shit has been going on for over a month so it's nice that they are able to watch the virus wreck the world and then make an informed decision. Certain countries (like Italy and the rest of the EU) weren't able gather evidence of it's true devastation in time before it ended up infecting their country. I'm not debating what they are doing NOW to combat it, I'm talking specifically about the shutting down of the borders, forced isolation, etc.1 point

I haven't heard it in the press conference itself but have heard elsewhere it's from 1st March. Not sure if it means for people have who have been laid off already or current employees in post since since 1st March.1 point

Without going into a country' biggest dick' argument, this just sounds like typical America. Money and profit at all costs and fuck everyone else. Not that Game over here are much better mind.1 point

Not surprised the dickhead who owns Wetherspoons is more concerned with making sure he still makes money rather than containing the spread of an infectious disease that no government has demonstrated they were ready for.1 point

Tune may change of bars after this evening's message from the government. Come next week they will force any closed that haven't. No reason to stay open now with these new economic measures. We will probably have 1000 deaths by next weekend.1 point

Have a feeling this pandemic won't end til we have a vaccine or some form to develop immunity. The spread is simply beyond control now.1 point

I just saw that when I woke up this morning. Good on them, its great to see. I havent heard enough stories like this. In North America theres been a couple NBA players and a couple NHL players that have donated smaller sums (100k ish) to pay the part time arena staff that are out of jobs.1 point

This piece reads like a fabulously written fiction story, except it's real. Kinda explains how the virus spreads in different situations. Great read this. https://nymag.com/intelligencer/amp/2020/03/the-story-of-a-coronavirus-infection.html?utm_campaign=The Interface&utm_medium=email&utm_source=Revue newsletter&__twitter_impression=true1 point
