I thought your second half performance was fantastic but your first half was a little sketchy. Still think you'll are going to walk over the line as winners this year I can't see Spurs catching up with you'll.
Subscriber Dan+ Posted April 26, 2017 Subscriber Share Posted April 26, 2017 So, Arsenal away today. Our record there is simply atrocious. We are still yet to beat Arsene Wenger in a league fixture. That is an appalling stat on our behalf, especially given his track record of struggling with plucky sides - which I'd say we could be considered one. Unlucky to not beat them at home in August to be fair as we had a clear penalty turned down in injury time at 0-0, but swings and roundabouts. For a while I've been thinking this is the best chance we'll have in years of beating these away from home given the turmoil they've been in, but they had a real boost at the weekend mentally I think, and it gives them a real incentive to beat us with Liverpool losing and at least one of the Manchester sides dropping points on Thursday. But I suppose we've had a week off where they've just played 120 minutes, so it may be a case of holding out and picking them off late on if we're still in it. Morgan is out so it'll be Huth and Benalouane. Expect Schmeichel, Simpson and Fuchs to make up the usual back five. Expect the usual midfield duo although Drinkwater's been well off form for a while now and it's a shame there isn't a lot of competition in midfield - Mendy's been a disappointment and King just isn't good enough. I do wonder if Gray might get a game here. Expect Okazaki and Vardy up front as Slimani is out AGAIN. Becoming a sick note him. A fucking expensive one to boot. Simpson has spoken today about how much they like Shakespeare. They clearly want him to get the job and that in itself is a motivation to get those results to convince our owners - although if it's true he's had meetings with them about our backroom staff and about recruitment, then the signs are that it's his to lose. I reckon we'll get something. We've lost our last 9 trips to Arsenal which is a current record for any PL fixture, which is embarrassing. We've been unlucky to lose the last two years. We were excellent there in 2015 and we so nearly held on for a point with ten men last year. I'll go for a 2-2 draw. Going to the game so the arguments can go ahead afterwards. True Blue
No clue how we were 2-1 at HT terrible half. In the second much better much more composed, and Bertrand getting one back in injury time. Overall deserved win, and i was really certain we would slip tonight after Southampton got one back. I don't expect Palace or any other team playing Spurs to do us any favors, i can even get them smashed tonight. We are in control and the one's that are 4 points clear, just keep up the momentum. The game at Goodison will be massive, avoid defeat and we got this.

SirBalon
This is the type of result that's been missing all season coupled with the FA Cup Semi-FInal against City the other day. What "grinds my gears" (wrong thread) is that AGAIN we're putting together a run at the end of the season and because everyone else has once again been so inconstant (us amongst them) we're in with a chance to let Wenger accomplish his dream end to a season which is maintain Champions League qualification. It makes me sick!

Administrator Stan Posted April 26, 2017 Administrator Share Posted April 26, 2017 Referee was shite for both sides. Benalouane should have seen red for using Giroud as a step ladder. Studs down the back . I'd have been screaming for a red if it was the other way round. Not on the same level, but most of the 50/50s throughout the rest of the match he was giving to Arsenal. Ulloa was getting no free-kicks despite Gabriel being all over him. And don't get me started on Alexis Sanchex. What a fucking cry baby. I mean, what the fuck is this, seriously? How embarrassing. Shades of Rivaldo at the 1998 (?) World Cup there. Nowhere near your face you fucking fanny.
Dave
Was at Selhurst this evening. Had the feel of an end of season game with the pace at times. I must say Spurs didn't look like a side that are challenging for the title. They only really smelt blood and went on the offense twice and that was after Sakhos injury and after they scored. Two players I don't think get enough credit for Spurs are Moussa Dembele and Christian Erikson. Dembeles movement and physicality really goes unnoticed whilst Erikson gets no where near the credit he deserves. He looks like the biggest reason why Spurs get so many plaudits for there brand of football. His movement, his vision, and technical ability are second to none. I wasn't surprised when his shot went in. A very good player. The media will probably not pick up on how well the Tottenham back line contained us well. Benteke was really ineffective. Zaha had a couple of good runs but wasn't given the opportunity to do anything in the last third whilst I feel Townsends performance would have been considered great had he been playing against players of slightly less ability. From a Palace perspective im a bit annoyed we lost a match where we able to limit Spurs to one shot on target. I'm annoyed that pile of shit Sissoko managed to stay on the pitch all the game too. I was pleased with Martin Kelly's contribution as both Alli and Kane were ineffective all game and too only lose by one to a team that thrash everybody is considered good going. I just wished we could have offered more going forward. Away from the football I Wasn't too keen on either sets of supporters tonight. All this rubbish of fans setting of flares has got to stop. Gives football fans in this country the moronic reputation they've been trying to lose. I expect a reaction from us against Burnley on Saturday after this. We haven't lost any league places tonight so it can be considered a dead rubber. Beating Burnley could go a long way in getting us a top half finish. Subscriber Dan+ Posted April 27, 2017 Subscriber Share Posted April 27, 2017 Not good enough. Black mark against Shakespeare's name tonight. Thought we were far too negative. I think by and large we defended well but we just invited pressure time and time again and eventually it takes one fluke like that goal and the entire plan is undone. Played for the 0-0 and left with a 1-0 loss. We will stay up but terms of results going our way the last week couldn't have really gone any worse. The referee just utterly useless. Sanchez should've been sent off. You're telling me there's only one bookable offence there? Not letting us take a throw in, feigning injury, dissent, time-wasting. There's at least two yellows in that. Unbelievable that he stayed on. Not seen Benalouane's challenge yet but heard it was bad. I wouldn't bother playing Ulloa. It's a waste of a shirt. Arsenal defender jumps on him and wins a free kick. You had to see it to believe it.

Toony
Sunderland will be down at the weekend, what a terrible job Moyes has done The title race is still just about open but Chelsea are huge favourites with their run-in compared to Spurs, who will probably have to win all their games to stand any chance.
