Results - Gameweek One

Okay folks, we're back, and despite a fairly predictable set of opening fixtures in the Premier League, we still have some competitors that have fallen at the first hurdle. Following a lack of good club-specific gifs available on the worldwide web compared to the excellent array that could be used for the World Cup last summer, this year will see the introduction of mega-cringe bad puns instead, some better than others, so enjoy!

Casualties (6)

The biggest collection of losers this week demonstrated a lack of match Sharp-ness in backing Bournemouth to defeat Sheffield United on Saturday afternoon. @Stan, @Batard, @Mel81x, @Viva la FCB and @Pyfish all turning out to be all Bournemouth and no trousers and don't even score a point in this round of the competition. They were joined on the sidelines by @Rucksackfranzose on Saturday afternoon, as a very tame pack of Wolves would have looked more at home in The Fox and the Hound, as Leicester and Wolves playfully tumbled into a goalless draw with a little bit of help from VAR.

Bad luck folks, you are out of this round of the LMS League, scoring 0 points. Look out for your notifications for the start of Round 2.

Survivors (14)

70% of our entrants have made it through the first week, stopping just short of the 70.1% possession Spurs enjoyed against Aston Villa who were very much the villains of the piece for @Dan, @SchalkeUK, @CaaC (John), @Teso dos Bichos, @Stick With Azeem and @Eco for much of Saturday evening's clash. A late flurry from Tottenham though, and this half dozen could breathe a sigh of relief and will look to continue Kaneing it (deal with it) into Gameweek Two. @DeadLinesman and @Bluewolf opted for the Early Bird special this week, opting to back Liverpool on Friday night along with @RandoEFC, @...Dan, @Lucas and @Storts. The European champions had Norwich beaten within 20 minutes, meaning that this bunch of entrants didn't have to face the embarrassment of bowing out before even seeing the first Saturday of the season, in a result almost as predictable as the inclusion of an old person joke in a Last Man Standing write-up. @nudge was the maverick of the week, opting for Manchester City who hammered the Hammers 5-0 in their own back yard, maintaining a small slice of diversity in the Last Man Person Standing stakes, delighting SJWs across the Twittersphere. Finally, don't forget @JOSHBRFC, who was so confident in his progress to the second gameweek, he left it until there were only three games to choose from to make his pick for an extra challenge. Josh has Aubameyang to thank for his safe passage through this week.

Congratulations on your survival folks. That's one point on the board and we're all joint top of the league! Make sure you recover from the hangover in time to make your picks for Gameweek Two.

Preview - Gameweek Two

Below are the fixtures for Gameweek Two. Remember you can't pick the same team again - I'm aware that @SchalkeUK made his picks for the next two weeks ahead of time. First kick off is Saturday lunchtime. Good luck!

Arsenal vs Burnley

Aston Villa vs Bournemouth

Brighton vs West Ham

Everton vs Watford

Norwich vs Newcastle

Southampton vs Liverpool

Man City vs Tottenham

Sheff Utd vs Crystal Palace

Chelsea vs Leicester

Wolves vs Man United

My pick for Gameweek Two is Arsenal.

Results - Gameweek Two

A late finish for this gameweek doubles the amount of dropouts this week but the majority make it through to the next week.

Casualties (2)

Not many players deviated from the path of least resistance this week. Having already backed Arsenal in Gameweek 1, @JOSHBRFC watched on in dismay as Chelsea were only able to Mount a 45 minute effort at defeating Leicester on Sunday afternoon, the Foxes fighting back for a 1-1 draw. This week's other casualty is @Stick With Azeem, who Rui's his choice of Manchester United as Pogba's missed penalty cost Solskjaer's men three points at Molyneux.

Bad luck, folks. You have scored 1 point this round, and you will be tagged at the commencement of Round Two.

Survivors (12)

Gunning for the third week of the Premier League round, eleven players successfully backed Arsenal this week, all of the following players left Auba the moon at the home side's 2-1 victory over Burnley - @RandoEFC, @Dan, @SchalkeUK, @...Dan, @CaaC (John), @nudge, @Teso dos Bichos, @DeadLinesman, @Lucas, @Eco and @Storts. The only man who successfully went another way was @Bluewolf, who stuck with the Toffees ahead of their 1-0 win over Watford.

You have all made it into Gameweek Three, and have 2 points on the board already. Congratulations, and please read ahead for Gameweek Three's fixtures.

Preview - Gameweek Three

Below are the fixtures for Gameweek Three, starting on Friday evening. I have already received picks in advance for this gameweek from @SchalkeUK and @DeadLinesman. The rest of you, happy picking, and remember you can't pick a team you've taken before.

Norwich vs Chelsea

Brighton vs Southampton

Man United vs Crystal Palace

Sheff Utd vs Leicester

Watford vs West Ham

Liverpool vs Arsenal

Bournemouth vs Man City

Tottenham vs Newcastle

Wolves vs Burnley

My pick for Gameweek Three is Tottenham.
