Of the 12 matches so far, only 2 real shocks as Romania thrashed Ukraine and Slovakia surprisingly got a 1-0 win over Belgium; while no-one opted for a Romania win, two players - @Beelzebub & @Redcanuck did wisely choose Slovakia victories. The stand-out performer though is clearly @Viva la FCB, gaining a big 24 points with 3 perfect scores to kick Round 1 off. He is clear by 4 points of @Pep Talk, while @Dan & @6666 both achieved 19 points. Average points scored for the round were 14.6. Only a minor difference of 6 points separates 5th to 18th... Administrator Stan Posted June 24 Author Administrator Share Posted June 24 TABLE AFTER ROUND 2 @Viva la FCB just about clings on to top spot but the gap is now reduced to 2 points, as @Dan scored 20 points to climb to 2nd place. Also scoring 20 points was @The Palace Fan who shot up to 8th. But bettering those scores were @LFCMike who propels himself up to 3rd and only 3 points off top spot, and also @Spike who goes from 25th place to 12th place. Fewer shocks than Round 1 led to quite a few perfect scores - @LFCMike, @JoshBRFC, @Devil, @Spike all scoring 3 perfect scores. Particular shout-outs to @JoshBRFC and @OrangeKhrush being the only ones to correctly predict a 1-1 draw between Czech Republic and Georgia, whilst the same goes for @Tommy who correctly guessed Austria's 3-1 victory over Poland. Small margins across the table as only 4 points separate 4th to 12th ,and then 3 points separating 13th to 22nd. Administrator Stan Posted June 27 Author Administrator Share Posted June 27 TABLE AFTER ROUND 3 The highest score, and most impressive given the circumstances and scenarios of some of the games, came from @Beelzebub who amassed a big 19 points to take him all the way up from 15th to 5th place, and only 5 points off the top. Between he and 1st place, @JoshBRFC now becomes the closest challenger to @Viva la FCB after scoring 17 points which is also very good. Both he and @Beelzebub got 3 perfect scores, and @Viva la FCB's lead is now only 1 point but he's just clinging on to 1st place... Other decent scores came from @Tommy, @Michael & @The Palace Fan (all 13 points) and @OrangeKhrush who went 1 better with 14 points.Only 8 points difference between 1st and 9th, and only 4 points between 10th and 21st! In that position is @JoshBRFC who uniquely & expertly predicted the goalless draw between Portugal & Slovenia. Several players got 15 points - @Beelzebub, @The Palace Fan & @Pep Talk all improved their rankings in doing so. @6666 got the same score but remained in 10th. Perhaps interestingly @Beelzebub was the only one to do it without getting a Perfect Score, while @6666 did it with 3 perfects. They were all bettered though by 1 point by @Pyfish who is now in 12th place after the highest score in this round. @Viva la FCB is still clinging on to 1st place but perhaps has more competition with only 6 points separating his position and @The Palace Fan in 7th. But that doesn't mean players still can't make good ground in the rankings. @CaaC (John) is testament to that as he scores a very good 13 points from the 4 games, with 2 perfect scores, and that takes him up into 13th place. Next best were myself & @Redcanuck with 11, and we improve our places to 16th and 17th respectively, although realistically it's aided by a couple of non-predictors. At the top, three players are now level in the chasing pack to @Viva la FCB - @JoshBRFC, @Dan and @Beelzebub only 4 points off top spot. Slightly behind is @Michael. Don't forget, it all may change after the final once the Bonus Questions predictions are tallied up! Just for info - if any players are tied at the end of the competition (including after the Bonuses are applied), then the tie-breaker will be most Perfect Scores gained throughout the tournament. Top scorer for Round 6 was @OrangeKhrush who amassed 10 points despite there being only the two games. Next best was @Tommy with 9 points and there are only 2 points between them. And the latter is only 5 points off the lead; again that could all change after Sunday night. Having led the way since the group stages, he could not be toppled, and finished in style with a perfect score to cement the lead. 8 points was the highest score achievable - @Michael, @OrangeKhrush, @CaaC (John), @Rucksackfranzose & @Bluebird Hewitt were the only others to correctly guess Spain's 2-1 scoreline over England. It meant there was only 1 point between 3rd and 7th, and a small gap of 5 points between 8th and 17th! And it certainly did for @Michael! He outscored the regular league-leader by 6 points and therefore jumps up into 1st place on 161 points! @JoshBRFC also outscored him, and the tie-breaker of Most Perfect Scores throughout the tournament meant that he also finished ahead of @Viva la FCB. @Bluewolf was perhaps the most wise, so to speak, as his predictions amassed 79 points and he flew into 5th from 19th place. Also gaining several places was @Spike, who went up to 7th, and interestingly was the only one to bag 15 extra points for predicting Spain to win the tournament, as well as being the only one to choose Bellingham as top scorer, who ultimately finished joint-2nd. @Coma was the only one to score 60+ points from the pre-tournament predictions in the bottom half of the table. Congratulations again to @Viva la FCB for the tournament predictions win, and again to @Michael for doing enough during the season to be in with a chance to finish 1st once these bonus questions were tallied up, and it paid off! Thank you everyone for taking part For reference, there were several 'joint' goalscorers for 1st/2nd/3rd in the actual tournament - we only had predictions of Kane/Mbappe/Lukaku/Bellingham/Havertz.
