Please explain the first quoted paragraph

Hopefully Dan has explained clearly enough but just in case, the skill to this competition is to put together the longest streak of correct winners without using any team more than once. Therefore if you start from week 3 for example, it's not a fair comparison with those who started in week 1.

Update - Gameweek One

Casualties (6)

tenor.gif?itemid=6165328

In what was generally looking like a routine first round success for the majority of entrants, Gameweek One has a sting in the tail and ends in tears for around a quarter of the field. @Bluewolf thought he'd suffered the last of Bakayoko's failings when the midfielder left Chelsea to join Milan on loan, but the Frenchman continues to haunt this Chelsea fan, as his red card is the most notable event of his new club's 0-0 draw at Bologna, which also sees @Cannabis, @nudge and @JOSHBRFC sidelined already. Eliminated over the weekend were @Batard, who backed Genoa to beat Roma, and @AMG , who tipped a Udinese success over Inter. This pair of somewhat odd choices clearly part of some long-term master-stroke which is bound to come off next time. Tough luck folks, you are out of this round with 0 points on the board. Keep an eye on your notifications for the start of the Spanish round.

Survivors (17)

GIF-Di-Mauro-Icardi-Che-Dopo-Il-Gol-Si-T

Despite around 75% of our entrants surviving the first week, there were squeaky bums to be found throughout the weekend, beginning with Saturday's two fixtures, where Inter, backed by @Tommy, @DeadLinesman and @Lucas, and Juventus in the Turin derby, backed by @The Palace Fan and @Rucksackfranzose both needed relatively late winners from the penalty spot to bag the full three points. @Azeem's Napoli left it even later on Sunday, besting Cagliari with a 91st minute winner from Arkadiusz Milik, and Roma managed to get some serious sweat out of the TF365 community, falling behind twice at home to Genoa before their eventual 3-2 triumph carried @RandoEFC, @Panna King and @Mel81x into the second gameweek. @Viva la FCB took the more obscure, but more comfortable route through, his pick Sassuolo securing a 2-0 success at Frosinone, while there was also serene progress for @Dr. Gonzo, @...Dan, @José and @StefBWFC, Sampdoria delivering the goods with a 2-0 home win against Parma. Last of all, Fiorentina's 3-1 win after falling behind at home to Empoli marked success for @Spike, @Stan and @Storts.

Congratulations on surviving an entire week to all 17 of you. You have a whopping 1 point on the board and can now make your picks for Gameweek 2.

Preview - Gameweek Two

Just a note on the scheduling for those who aren't familiar with the Italian Christmas period. Gameweek Two's fixtures all take place this Saturday (22nd). I will endeavor to get everything updated and everyone tagged ready for Gameweek Three, which takes place on Boxing Day (Wednesday 26th), again with all ten fixtures taking place. This is soon followed by Gameweek Four, another full set of ten fixtures taking place on Saturday 29th December. Unfortunately then there is a gap in fixtures until the 20th January... We all have our commitments over the next couple of weeks, myself included, but if you don't want to lose your seat at the Last Man Standing table, please be aware that your window for making picks is a lot shorter than usual over the next few sets of fixtures. I will do my best to keep everyone tagged in plenty of time but can't make any promises as we all know what the festive period can be like!

Anyway, back to business - below are the odds for Gameweek Two's fixtures - remember that you cannot choose any team if you've already used them!

Lazio (1.36) vs Cagliari (8.50)

AC Milan (2.20) vs Fiorentina (3.25)

Empoli (2.30) vs Sampdoria (3.00)

Genoa (4.20) vs Atalanta (1.83)

Napoli (1.20) vs Spal (13.00)

Sassuolo (2.60) vs Torino (2.62)

Udinese (1.80) vs Frosinone (4.33)

Chievo (8.50) vs Inter Milan (1.40)

Parma (2.37) vs Bologna (3.00)

Juventus (1.40) vs Roma (8.00)

My pick for Gameweek Two is Napoli. Good luck folks!

That's another 3 months waiting for others to drop out.... starting to go off this game.. This is worse than getting eliminated from mafia wars in the first round..

Unbelievable...

Finally lasted longer than you. Eeehhhhhhhh!
