Subscriber RandoEFC+ Posted February 9, 2022 Subscriber Posted February 9, 2022 Welcome to the fourth round of the season! Off we go to sunny Spain. As usual, I'm tagging everyone who has taken part this season, the more the merrier, etc. etc. Not going through the rules as you all know them. @Bluewolf, @Michael, @Storts, @Stan, @RondónEFC, @DeadLinesman, @CaaC (John), @Whiskey, @The Palace Fan, @Lucas, @Mel81x, @6666, @Pyfish, @Eco, @Redcanuck, @Khan of TF365, @Pugwash, @ROBBIEFC, @Asura, @Viva la FCB, @Rick, @Tommy, @Devil, @Dan, @...Dan, @Rucksackfranzose, @nudge Straight into it... Preview - Gameweek One Below are the fixtures for Gameweek One with the current La Liga standings to help you out. Obviously, everyone gets a free pick in the first week! A good job as well because it doesn't look like an easy one with all of the bottom four at least enjoying home advantage this week. First game is on Friday evening! My pick for Gameweek One is Sevilla. Good luck!
Moderator Tommy Posted February 9, 2022 Moderator Posted February 9, 2022 Atletico, please. Fully expect them to lose now, and be out in the first round again.
Subscriber CaaC (John)+ Posted February 9, 2022 Subscriber Posted February 9, 2022 Real Betis, please.
Administrator Stan Posted February 9, 2022 Administrator Posted February 9, 2022 Real Betis please. A mini-massacre imminent?
Subscriber Dan+ Posted February 9, 2022 Subscriber Posted February 9, 2022 Atletico Madrid. They've not lost to Getafe in about 20 years so obviously they'll lose 1-3 now I've had them.
Subscriber RandoEFC+ Posted February 11, 2022 Author Subscriber Posted February 11, 2022 Just a bump for anyone else to take part. I'm about to head out so I'm not tagging anyone, but remember you can still pick a team from the rest of the weekend's games if you don't make it in time for tonight's opener. Good luck all!
Michael Posted February 12, 2022 Posted February 12, 2022 Despite getting a man sent off in the 58th minute with the score tied at 3-3, Atletico Madrid still managed to get a late winning goal in the 89th minute through Hermoso. So it finished 4-3 in favour of Atletico at the end.
Subscriber RandoEFC+ Posted February 15, 2022 Author Subscriber Posted February 15, 2022 Results - Gameweek One Casualties (6) Half a dozen entrants are already condemned to the sidelines in the latest round of Last Man Standing. Although we made it as far as Saturday night with just one casualty, the elimination of @Pyfish came in emphatic fashion as his pick of Rayo Vallecano were on the wrong end of a 3-0 thumping by mid-table rivals Osasuna. Sunday saw @nudge maintain her perfect run of zeroes as Levante were defeated at home to Real Betis, before Barcelona came the first team in this edition of LMS to let down multiple players. Luuk de Jong may have rescued a point for his side with his 96th minute equaliser in a Barcelona Derby that also saw three red cards handed out in injury time, but it wasn't enough to see @The Palace Fan, @Mel81x and @Rick into a second Gameweek. Finally, @Viva la FCB was alone in waiting until Monday to learn his fate, and he went unrewarded for his patience, as Athletic Club fell to a late 3-2 defeat at struggling Mallorca. Bad luck folks, a pointless round to all of those mentioned, keep an eye on your notifications for the start of Round Five. Survivors (15) 'Safety in numbers' is a phrase that often tempts fate in this competition given the massacres that have gone in the past, but the two most popular picks did prove, on this occasion, to be the right ones. Two second half goals allowed Sevilla's backers to book an early place in Gameweek Two, their victory over Elche music to the ears of @RondónEFC, @6666, @Aladdin and @...Dan. As described by @Michael above, Atletico's blockbuster 4-3 win over Getafe on Saturday, featuring six goals before half-time and a red card for the home team before an 89th-minute winner from Mario Hermoso, secured his spot in the next Gameweek, along with @Tommy and @Dan. The majority of eyes were trained on Sunday's game between Levante and Real Betis, though, with 3rd-placed Betis looking for three points at the bottom club. It was comfortable if not straightforward for Nabil Fekir and co. in another high-scoring 4-2 success that left @Bluewolf, @Storts, @Stan, @DeadLinesman, @CaaC (John), @Lucas, @Redcanuck and @Rucksackfranzose smiling as they took the total number of competitors safely over the first hurdle to 15. Congratulations on your safe progress and a first point on the board. Please read ahead for Gameweek Two's fixtures. Preview - Gameweek Two As always, an updated table along with your next selection of La Liga fixtures. Remember not to pick the same team again. My pick for Gameweek Two is Celta Vigo. Good luck!
